Re: Have we seen the end of built-in Traffic information?

I tried a few times to update the maps. Never got them to stick, despite VW confirmed I was using the correct file 😤

Re: Cabin Blower

I agree, I’ve owned mine almost 5 years, but still remember that it either is more efficient and quieter at low speeds or that they have reduced efficiency to run at lower volumes. I think it’s the latter.

Re: Replacement floor mats B8 2019

I have used one of these set for almost 5 years. Pro’s It clipped in as it should at the front and is a decent fit in the rear. The boot floor is a very nice fit with a tiny lip all around Con’s Don’t wash with or use anything that leaves a”shiny “ surface, it will become very slippery- dangerous fo...

A good job there, I’m happy with my B8 steering wheel, however if I had very large hands I see the benefit of your mod. Well done!

Re: Please help

I can’t help you on the door. On your boot lid - when open look at the centre of the base- there should be a black plastic round grommet type of thing, it’s the allow water to drain. If it’s damaged or misses ing, the thing has just let go and needs replacing. My bit cost me £35 fitted by my local V...

Sadly, I don’t think you can. I tried a few times asked at the dealership (when still 18 months old) they had no idea, no surprises for anyone there, looked at other forums no positive answer :(

Re: Discover Pro update

I made numerous attempts before I managed to update, eventually I just extracted and then copied over, very simple when not using the VW software to do the job for me #:-s I’d not admit in public how many failed attempts, but it was far more than the amount of fingers I stuck up to VW :D [youtube][/...

Re: Led front light upgrades

Well I jumped in and ordered the full set, easy enough to fit except for the main beams for that you need thin but strong hands, got my 18 year old grandson to do the heavy lifting strong as a bull but carry’s no extra weight, the lights look good are almost white, but much better than stock halogen...

Re: Travel to Europe - Headlights, bulb kit etc.

VCDS cant change the characteristics of the headlamp assembly so its down to stickers, you also need to be aware (if your traveling in or through France) of this requirement, also despite what is says the french police have enforced this outside of the known restricted areas and they are growing all...

Re: VW emissions update

I've received the letter asking me to book in, tbo I'm inclined to wait for more reports on this, don't want to lose the remap as I'm very happy with the way it runs and the mpg (summer figures all year round would be nice)

Re: Temperature

mine seems to have a fast heat option fitted, I get warm air after about 5/6 minutes, just turn the heat all the way over and as if by magic warm air, the coolant temp still takes ages to catch up - must be some sort of pre heat going on.......

Re: Thinking of a re-map

I'd recommend it, my 140 cr had a stage one about two years ago, mid range torque is greatly improved. making overtaking easier and safer, provided I can drive normally the mpg is a little better, of course a heavy right foot will change that result :)

They are glued and heat-sealed together very solidly. If you can reach the loose bit through the connector hole you may be able to re-glue it. I remember reading on a forum that if you heated the lamp unit in an oven it may s Do you have a link?often the glue enough, or you may melt it completely! ...

Re: Emissions Recall - Anyone done it yet?

I can't see how they can fix this without there being some sort of side effect somewhere and it's unlikely to be a benefit to the owners, bar the less emissions which it should have had in the first place. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk My local indie recently fitted a new drive belt, whilst I...

Re: Wiper scratches on fancy windscreen

There is a different type of heated windscreen available for the Passat with no visible wires. If you google 'VW climacoat windscreen' you can read about it. Not cheap but it does away with the heating element wires and also has the bonus of reflecting heat away from the cabin on hot, sunny days. D...
