Re: Front-end clicking/knocking when braking - 2006 B6 Saloo
Mine turned out to be the rear pads moving about. I simply performed the VCDS Brake Function Test and they don't rattle around any more. Maybe something to do with my pads being very worn and the calipers not being set up for this? So they are now calibrated. Maybe someone can clear this up. http://...

Re: Front-end clicking/knocking when braking - 2006 B6 Saloo
No it seemed to start a few thousand miles after changing discs and pads. I've recently replaced shocks, springs, wishbones and balljoints on the front end and had an alignment so all suspension components appear tight. It really sounds and feels like the pads are shifting around in the caliper? Cou...

Front-end clicking/knocking when braking - 2006 B6 Saloon
Hello, Sorry, but I have another "what's that noise?" thread. It's a knocking/clicking on the front-end of the car under braking, generally when I'm reversing the car into the driveway. It happens mainly when I drive up my street, swing to the left, and then reverse the car back and to the...

Re: VW PASSAT B6 REAR BRAKE CALIPER LEAKING
I've been looking at other people's experiences on this forum and others but I'm not sure what the best way is to fix it. Just replace the motor? Replace the caliper and motor? Is there a seal that needs replaced too?

Re: VW PASSAT B6 REAR BRAKE CALIPER LEAKING
Apologies for the 2-year bump but I just noticed today that one of my rear calipers is leaking fluid. What was the solution to the problem? I can't see where the fluid is leaking from (haven't had a good look at it yet), but I did see that the motor has a hairline crack in it. Has anyone had any sim...

I would love a front upper brace to tighten up the front end a bit. Where did you get it from? Cheers.

Re: B6... A Working Progress
I'm lucky enough to have OEM bi-xenons on my B6 - they're amazing. I definitely couldn't go back to normal halogens after having them!

Re: Susspesion 2L TDI Sport Estate
I recently fitted OEM sport springs (-15mm I think) to my 06 saloon. It knackered my standard shocks with 75k on them so I replaced the front and rear shocks recently too. If I were you I would go for the Eibach Pro Kit (-30mm) with brand new standard shocks - they will hold up no problem. I would a...

Re: "Wub, wub, wub" noise from front suspension
The noise turned out to be both front shocks. I recently fitted OEM VW sport springs to the front and rear and it consequently caused the front shocks to fail. Not bad for 78k though. So 2x new shocks later and the noise and crappy handling are gone! Lesson of the day: replace shocks when you are fi...

I got mine last year. 2006, 68k with full leather beige interior, walnut trim, front and rear parking sensors, bi-xenons with auto light sensor and auto wipers, cruise control, highline clocks, electric heated seats, MFSW, auto dimming mirror etc. Nabbed in for £4800 from a dealer - needless to say...

Re: FSI 200
The 2.0TSI from 09 onwards might be a different engine than the earlier 2.0TFSI engine. It might not have the diverter valve problem.

Re: Water under car dripping.
I don't think thats condensation from the A/C, I think it's just water that's collected under the car and is now dripping out. As for the 'pipe,' it's actually an exhaust hanger, and it looks like it's possibly separated from the exhaust. Water from where? It's been 26.5 C today The pipe doesn't lo...

Once again, thanks for the valuable info Richard. I'll get a new one ordered ASAP! Any particular brands to look out for? Eurocarparts sometimes have Bosch ones at around ~£50.

Battery drain problem '06 2.0TFSI
Hello, I'm currently having a battery issue with my 2006 Passat 2.0 TFSI. A few months ago I was sitting in the car with the key in the ignition (but with engine off), having a play around with VCDS. All lights were on in the car as well as air-con, and when I went to start the car the battery had d...

Re: Parking sensor experts
I had this problem too, with one of my front one's being faulty. I plugged it into VCDS and went into the measuring blocks for the parking sensors. If you turn the parking sensors on while reading the measuring blocks, you should see which one is faulty by it's reading differing from the others. For...

Re: "Wub, wub, wub" noise from front suspension
I'll have a check at all the components when I get a chance, but it doesn't seem like the CV joint. The noise is in conjunction with crappy handling, so I'm thinking wishbone bushes.

Re: SOLVED - Air-conditioning advice - 2006 B6 2.0TFSI
Sorry to hear that it didn't work for you. Are the fans etc turning on with the air-con? If not it could be the G65 sensor or the fans themselves. If not, and you can get a working compressor bought and fitted for cheap, then I would just replace the compressor.
