Re: Soaking wet drivers footwell

Check your plenum chamber on the driver's side (under the scuttle panel at bottom of windscreen). There's a rubber grommet that should drain down behind the wheel but it gets clogged with leaves and crud so the chamber fills up and overflows back in to the cabin. I had it a few years ago and it scre...

Great, thanks. Off with the scuttle panel it is (will give me an excuse to clear out the plenums as well!)

Aircon intake?

The B6 is smelling like a farmyard when the aircon is switched on of late, so was going to attempt to spray through with a sanitiser spray from the air intakes before I fit a new cabin filter, but I can't find them :-? Nothing I can see at the base of the windscreen or around the wipers. Do they com...

Re: Front Suspension Knock

Mine has been doing this for a while, sounds like a box of spanners strapped to the underside of the car. Went in for the MOT yesterday and they had it on the ramps and on their 'jiggle rig' (their words, not mine!) and couldn't find out where it was coming from. What's the deal with the steering ra...

Re: Highline Plus Bluetooth screen

Sorry col, got sidetracked!

I can't see any way to physically turn off the unit itself so I think it's either an issue with the dock connection or the unit itself is faulty :(

Re: Highline Plus Bluetooth screen

I think col is referring to the touch adapter Richard rather than the MFD.

I'll have look on mine a bit later when I'm in the motor col and let you know, but I don't recall there being any "off" switch as such other than removing it from the dock.

I'll report back tonight.

Yep, no compensation payments planned for us European suckers, only the US because they want to increase sales out there.

Good luck getting away with that one!

Interesting that the goodwill package doesn't require the owner to actually have the software update carried out.

Should do the same as your fridge ;)

If you're asking a serious question, record a video on your mobile and shut it in the glovebox. If it goes dark, your bulb has blown ;)

Lifted paint

Took a knock to the rear bumper yesterday and it has caused a split in the paint on the top surface of the bumper by the boot lid. It's almost as though someone has slid a stanley blade in under the paint to lift it :???: I'm going to stick it back down if I can, but not sure if using the trusty old...

Iron-X does the same sort of thing (even goes the same colour!).

Available from online suppliers of product to clean your car ( ;) ) but be warned - it stinks!

Re: Water in drivers side footwell only

Have you checked the plenums under the scuttle panel?

These getting blocked up normally leads to a nice paddling pool in the driver's footwell.

Re: how is my drivers floor full of water HELP

This will likely be blocked drains in the plenum chambers. You'll need to remove the wiper arms and the scuttle panel underneath to get to them. It's not a difficult job, just take your time removing the scuttle panel! More details from my adventure here: http://www.ukpassats.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.p...

Inconsiderate *****!!!

Parked up today while out for some lunch, and came back to a lovely little scuff down the passenger rear door and rear wheel arch! They aren't hugely visible, but have definitely taken the top coat off the paintwork. I'm planning on claying the area to try and 'flatten' it out a little, but h...

Hmmm, still not liking it more than the B6. Much prefer the curves rather than the angles.

Interior looks good though.
