Re: Heated Mirrors

Could also check correct operation by removing the mirror glass and testing for voltage on the heating element spade connectors with a multimeter. i got less than 1 volt on the spade connectors (engine running and mirror switch in the heating position) I got continuity on the heating element. Heated Mirrors

My passenger side mirror isn't heating. I don't have my owners manual to check, but I presume that both mirrors run off the same fuse so it's not that.

Is it likely that the heating element doesn't work and I need a new mirror?

Re: VW emissions update

From what I've read the fix injects un-burnt fuel into the NOx trap as the cheat was not putting the fuel needed into the NOx trap.

Re: Passat W8

Did the fuzz try and roger you for your front number plate, a lot of lean in the corners , suspension ? How come VW LongLife spec Mobil1 ESP 5W30 and not the SXOC fave Fuchs TITAN RACE ? The police never bother with me the in s14. Was surprised cause of how loud it was. Really really miss that car!

Re: Passat W8

Ermm if money is tight personally I wouldn't recommend a W8 as repairs could and will cost a small fortune best person to talk to is dmcessential Also you might want to read his build thread before going any further as it might enlighten you to W8 ownership http://www.ukpassats.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopi...

Re: Passat W8

Budget , saloon or estate ? An estate would be best. But not too bothered. Not got a budget as yet. A lot of the maintenance I would be able to do myself, but I'm new to the world of vw. So I don't know much about the car or its value, just kind of looking for guidance on how much I should be looki...

Passat W8

Hi guys. Used to have a Passat B6 Wagon R-line 2.0Tdi. But due to the fact that I'm becoming a dad in 2 months its had to go. Reason being I'm buying a house and the car was on finance, so the banks offer of a mortgage would barely get me a new passat never mind a house. So the car and finance had t...

Rust

Does the b6 estate suffer from rust anywhere?

My other car is a Nissan 200sx and loves rust. So I'm going to get some under seal and under seal it. Is it worth doing it to the vw?

I know in the long run it will have benefits?

If you were in the situation would you do it?

Re: Running on used veg oil?

Is it a no no full stop? As I've read about conversion kits. And read that mine being a common rail would have to be a 2 tank conversion? I'm in no way arguing about what anyone has said. Just trying to get a clearer picture. Could it be run on a blend of veg/derv or is that a big no no with these e...

Running on used veg oil?

I have a 2010 2.0 tdi r-line. It's already a lot cheaper to run than my previous car (Nissan 200sx s14a 2.0t). But I'm always looking for ways to save money on fuel. Before anyone says I only use the car when needed, I ride to work when ever it's possible. I've looked into red derv as I drive the ca...
