i made a set for my b4 by getting some flat steel from my local steel wholesalers, as its only about 3mm thick you can easily form it by hand and only cost £10 to make all 3 straps so worth replacing all 3

Euro car parts £37 and just knock the clay out from inside, job done, used on my old b4 tdi no problems with mot.

Claim the money through insurance and put it in your pocket, if they bother to write it off it will only be a cat d,you won't get a 3rd party to cover that from there own pocket (unless you're really lucky)

As title says I've got a 99 golf cabby with an option to pick up a good 2.0t passat b5 and was wondering if the conversion is do able

As I've now sold my b4 and using my golf cabby for the summer I'm considering my next estate, with both the above cars very similar do people have any recommendations as to reliability, running costs,what to look for or avoid.

i,d agree with fonzzy, the vr6 does run hotter than normal engines so i,d be tempted to fit another brand of thermostat.

For hot air through heater try changing thermostat as that cured my lack of heat problem, and I've just fitted a new cts as mine had a judder issue when cold, cts does not affect temp gauge reading as you can disconnect it and gauge will not move it's the stat that gives the gauge reading.

If the brakes work ok and it will only fail mot on the fact the fault light on dash flashes(if it's the actual abs switch light,disconnect the lamp and bridge another lamp from airbag as they're in same block,if its the fault light in instruments cluster then just disconnect that lamp from circuit b...

I've got b3 mfa in my garage which aren't any good to me, you can have for cost of postage.

I'd also check for a worn insulation wire from horn push to earth, as I've got an aftermarket wheel and horn and that sometimes makes a contact to earth without the button being pushed.

The white block is the contacter that pulls in when switched on to supply power, I'd remove each wire from contactor and check not shorted out.

My mate at work had his 5 series bmw done 5 yr ago and it's done over 100k on it since and not missed a beat,his advice is find a recommended local installer just in case you get any problems and also choose the best kit available not the cheapest, he pays 52p a ltr for lpg

Yeah it's easy if car already has aircon but a pain to convert non aircon
