If you want more power out of the 8v then all the above is good advice but for the same money you can wack an ABF in there and say hello to 150bhp straight away.

Try soaking the Idle Stabalisation valve in petrol over night and also check all your vacuum hoses for leaks.

Well I'm averaging 34mpg but most of driving day to day is town stuff so I'm quite pleased. Motorway runbs and I can see 40mpg. Not bad for a big old barge with a 2.0 16v!

Not sure it'll be as good once I've fitted ABF cams!

Ha ha that vile MKIII is my mate Len's car. He's in his 50's and is a grandad, you wouldn't think of it looking at his car. Much as he is a good friend it is a truly shonky set of wheels. I was wearing urban camo trousers and a reading festival hoodie. I'll post up my pics in a bit.

Decided that I would change the somewhat knackered side stripes on the pissrat and went for a red one. Had seen this on a couple of other B3's and liked it but having done it to mine I'm not so sure.

Buzzer as well?

It's telling you you've got low oil pressure. Could be a few things:

* Oil old and thin, change it.
* Sensor is on the way out, change it.
* Sensor wiring up the spout. Locate and repair.
* Oil pump is failing/pickup pipe is gunged up. Clean/change it.

With a friend last night we cleaned out a few bits and bobs and swapped the dizzy cap for a spare one he had as mine looked a bit old and knackered. I have a few more observations from todays journey into work.

* Cleaning the ISV seems to have had little effect.
* It only does it once warm/hot
* Twice it happen while I was holding on the foot brake and I felt the peddle move suggesting a vacum problem.

Car had done a 45min 21 mile journey home and water temp was 95deg and oil 104deg. If left idling it will do this approx once a minute. Sometime more, sometimes less. Pics of the bay ...

Just thought I would mention that the coraddo.net boys are a useful resource for all things 9a related. Loads more online folks with corrados with these engines fitted then folks with passats.
