OK the timing was out on the rear seal, he sorted that, new sensor on crank and cam and still it doesn't start when hot, any ideas, I can't afford to keep throwing money at this the mechanic has said there are now no fault codes either

Re: 2.0TDi wont start????
Dingbro, parts are by facet.
Rear main oil seal was changed at asme time as was crank sensor, I've since read that the timing on the seal is critical, I've mentioned this to the garage incase they just threw the seal on and expected it all to work

Re: Struggling to start once stopped
I had a similar issue and a Blacksmoke re-map sorted it so no more embarassment at the petrol pumps. Only issue is not I have a new problem in 5th or 6th at 2K revs on light throttle the engine feels like its trying to jump out of the engine bay, more or less throttle clears this though so I think i...

I've also had a great experience on Nexen 3000. On a Lotus Elise no less... popped some Nexen on the rear and had the Yoko Advan AD06 Neova on the front, these are Lotus specific and deemed the best allround tyre for the S1 Elise. Well, on track with Neova all round the car was as expected very neut...

Re: Back To Hot Start Issue
So today on the way to work my car goes POP and loses power.. arrrgh, first thought was driveshaft failure, second thought was boost hose, second thought was right... Re: Back To Hot Start Issue
Thanks for the ideas/feedback guys! Cranking speed is between 250 and 300, new high output battery installed made no difference but remap fixes it but gives me a horrible stumble between 2 and 2.5K rpm... If the map can make it start, you think it's getting more fuel on start up when hot, that being...

Re: Back To Hot Start Issue
Thanks guys, New battery fitted and cranking speed is fine, I have VCDS and there are also no fault codes, It's funny how a re-map cures it but causes another issue with the new 2K stumble, engine can really jump when it does it . Crank sensor and cam sensor I asume are fine as the remap cured the h...

Back To Hot Start Issue or 2K rpm Stumble/Miss
OK I have the dreaded Hot start issue... Had the coolant temp sensors replaced as a fault was thrown up, seems one was unplugged which was giving the code but replaced anyway. hot start issue remained. Remap with EGR off seemed to cure the hot start issue but showed up a horrible stumble at 2-2.5K, ...
