Re: Door alignment
thanks for the pointer.
I ended up having a look at it over the weekend, everything was tight so just adjusted the hinges on the front & back door drivers side. Looks a lot better now

Door alignment
The drivers door on my CC was closing out of line with the rear door, and, also appears to sit further into the car at sill level. I have adjust the strike plate which has now raised the door but the door has to be closed with a greater force. I'm thinking I should of adjusted the door at the hinge ...

Re: CC rear light cluster - dirt collecting
Damers, did you ever resolve this? Mine seems to do the same thing, collect dirt where the rubber flange meets the paint work -- design fault maybe? :???: I did but it involved gloss black vinyl. I looked at the seals, heated them to try and force them back but they were still not doing the job the...

Re: CC front bumper removal?
ok cheers, I couldn't see anything like that when I tried to remove mine. In saying that, it was pitch black and I had lost the will to live by that time.
If I find anything in the meantime, I'll post up here with any helpful info I have aswell.

CC rear light cluster - dirt collecting
Put some bits in the boot this morning and noticed that the rubber flanges to the top of the light cluster in the wing holds dirt behind it. It looks like someone may of messed with how the rubbers sit both sides. It seems to me that the boot rubber should overlap the light cluster but on mine its s...

Re: Machine polisher?
Depends how bad it is too be honest. I've only ever machine polished mine (3-4 times) and Revo's car so I'm by no means a pro but will give it a go for you. To machine polish mine normally takes 2-3 hours so I'd probably say £60+. As I say it's a rough guide as the car would need washed etc before...

Re: Machine polisher?
Worth trying a heavy cutting polish by hand first? Maybe you would have more success with meguiars scratch remover? Srp is full of fillers, I'm surprised it didn't help the appearance slightly tho. Megs is only 8 quid and it works well. Give it a try. To fully correct your paint is gona be at least...

Re: Machine polisher?
I've used T-Cut, Autoglym Paint Renovator and Autoglym SRP The swirls do look bad to me, judging by the cars condition when I purchased it, I think the previous company owners just put it through the car wash every now and again. I've got the interior looking like new but just the bodywork bothers m...

Machine polisher?
Hi all,
Can anyone put forward a name \ contact of someone who could macine polish my car?
Its black and has its fair share of swirl marks ect and regardless of the amount of polishing I do, it makes next to no difference.
Thanks

CC front bumper removal?
As above, I had all the torx bits out from under the bumper, in the arches and across the slam panel but it wouldn't move. I'm guessing that there are other fixings on the side of the bumper behind the arch liners but I couldn't see or feel them. Also, do they do a haynes manual for the CC, can't se...

I normally buy a Haynes manual when i get a new car but they haven't done one for the CC yet, are there any alternatives out there?

forgot to add but it makes you wonder why the second seal is there?? The inner seal does all the work so maybe I could form larger holes?

Re: Passat CC - water in doors?
thanks for that I've had a look at my seals and it looks like they have had the cut outs formed allready.... bit of a stange one. Its been stood for a few days so maybe thats not done it any good. I'll just keep my eye on it for now. I will be taking off the scuttle panel though and making 100% sure...

Re: Passat CC - water in doors?
scuttle panel does look clear. I cleaned out some leaves atc when I bought it. Does the water from the scuttle area drain from the sides and down over the arch liner? Had another look at the doors and its seems that the small gromits on the underside seem to have perished and are letting water sit i...

Passat CC - water in doors?
Just sorted one problem so onto the next. I have noticed that since I've owned the car that the cills always seem to be damp, mainle on the rear doors. Also, when driving you can hear water moving around somewhere in the door region. the doors do appear to be holding water but the drain holes in eac...
