Hi Chippie If you use the dedicated electrics you apparently still have to cut in 3 wires under the drivers side dash board. There is no cutting involved....The three wires in question are CAN Hi and CAN Lo which are connected in parallel with the relevant wires in the plug indicated fon the drawin...

Did you disconnect the battery while doing all of this?
Any problems on re-connecting the battery?

How did you install the additional wires into the fuse box on the end of the dash?

And...the CAN bus wires into the middle plug/connector?

All seems a bit tight inside the dash area...

I bought the Westfalia offering from PF Jones....(no association other than a satisfied customer) and the dedicated wiring kit... Fitting the bar itself is a breeze following the instructions but doesnt mention removing the little pin clips at the top of the wheel arch!! I've yet to install the wiri...

Agreed...Thats all it does...

Disappointing really when you consider that my 54 plate Fiesta has a release on the dash...

Manuals are just generic and showing all of the options u can have on the car :wink: If u talking about the button with the tailgate on it, this is just for unlocking the tailgate when the car is locked and u wont someone to put staff in to the boot, so they can open the locked tail gate :D No, I'm...

There's a remote release for the tail gate according to the manual...
On my driver's door there is a switch but doesnt do anything?

The colour is Night Blue I think...Its a 2.0litre TDI Highline Bluemotion(complete with Adblue.... :cry: ) I can see with me towing the caravan the Adblue is going to need topping up sooner rather than later if I get round to going somewhere.... Found it....!!! There 's a little entry point just below the diesel filler and there's a clear plastic hose running down just inboard of the wheel arch.... I'm told that if you run out of adblue, its a dealer job! The car has a warning to tell when the level is low, enough for a couple of hundred mi...

Well if it aint got Adblue then thats a relief......

Watch the vid, had a look in the boot...even had a good look around underneath while applying Waxoyl to all the metal bits...

Looking in the boot area I cannot find any point at which this is added...
