Re: yellow steering wheel on dash ?

I was told this is warning you that your alignment/tracking is off.
Usually if it's just been up on jacks it needs a bit of a straight road / motorway drive to reset itself.
However I've also had to have a 4 wheel alignment done to remedy it.

Re: Engine "shiver" at idle / Vibration

It's now hesitating and choking back, feels like it's struggling for power. I'm leaning towards the DPF or EGR. Don't have time this week to pull it and clean it manually. Hoping the tank full of decent fuel, some millars additive, and a 6 hour blast to Nottingham on saturday will sort it. Covered i...

Re: Engine "shiver" at idle / Vibration

RPM didn't seem to increase, car was up to temp and had been on for a ticking over for a while. The vibration when out on the road is more noticeable when backing off the gas, more than pulling strongly. Car has gone down to a 3mile commute for the past 6 months. So isn't really getting a good long ...

Re: B6 estate towbar

I didn't. I was kinda cute when I bought the car, and agreed a baseline price with the main VW dealer. Then asked for a number of adjustments to be included (tints, towbar etc) They fessed up and said it was actually sub contracted out to these guys http://www.indespension.co.uk/ That's where the re...

Re: B6 estate towbar

Overall part number for the full kit still to be provided. But meantime, here's the pics. I only use mine for Bike rack and Trailer towing, so only have single (black) electrics. Double electrics are available as I was given the option, but the secondary(grey) is only used if you want to power the c...

Re: Engine "shiver" at idle / Vibration

Good Lord I hope not !! But would fit the bill.
Is this under an official recall?

What would you recommend to try and diagnose?
Due to pull the family down from Edinburgh to Nottingham in 2 weeks with the car fully loaded.

No problemo - Part is made by Thule themselves. Art no. 9600891 Measures 257 x 90 when measures across the back Came as part of the Thule kit, was recommended to go with thule by Indespension because they supply this. https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/645/32647603633_6aba5547f4_c.jpg IMG_20170315_203630...

Re: B6 estate towbar

My Thule one came with the blanking plate to fit when the towbar is not installed.
If you can wait till tonight I'll get the part numbers of it for you?
Whole bumper off for install, but a neat letterbox hole in the lower non-colour coded part (for me) is necessary.

Engine "shiver" at idle / Vibration

Hi, hoping someone can help me diagnose this.. ('09 B6 Estate, 2.0 TDi 140 diesel) When the car is idling, every now and again it has a brief (lasts a second) shiver to itself. Engine shakes then immediately settles again. Did it 4 of 5 times in the 10 mins I was waiting on the daughter to get out o...

Re: DPX-7000DAB - JBL Club 6500c - Install Started

Install DONE !

3 weekends of effort.
All lower trim removed at times.
A pillar off.
Door Cards trimmed.
Inner Door skin cut, drilled.
Speaker adaptors shaved.
Airbag light reset.

What a nightmare of a job of that was.

Re: Sound Install has begun

1 - When installing the tweeter in the door card, would a puddle of Sticks Like Sh*t on the support bar be enough to secure it and withstand the constant banging it'll get when the kids slam the doors? There is not enough room to get any of the supplied tweeter mounts in there. Spent 2 hours last n...

Update - Work has started... Can't feel my fingertips ! Some of those clips are a faff !! Took me bloomin ages to work out how to get the Manual window winders off !!! Back seat cheeks out, trim from the rear bench to the dashboard all off, door cards out, original head unit out. Cables run for the ...

Re: DPX-7000DAB - Anything else I should consider?

Okay, Decision made - trigger pulled ! JBL as recommended - now on order. Autoleads SAK-3103 - on order. Chucked in some speaker wire as well, as I've been known to measure once and cut too short :) Just the small matter of tearing the car apart to fit it all. Stereo, DAB antenna, Rear speakers (mid...

Re: DPX-7000DAB - Anything else I should consider?

More and more coming round to the idea of those as well. £50 isn't much for something of that quality.. just wish they come with a safety net of grilles. Not sure if I can use the ones in the cards at the moment, as can't recall if they are pierced (never been speakers in there) Thing is - as I use...

Re: DPX-7000DAB - Anything else I should consider?

Joy. Glad I asked ! I spent a fair bit on oem replacement speakers for my MK2 GTi and was bitterly disappointed. Don't wanna make the same mistake with this one. Headunit is rated at 4x50W so was looking at those pioneer as 45W and being close to the standards in the front door so I don't wreck thos...

Re: DPX-7000DAB - Anything else I should consider?

Thinking of going with these based on reviews and fitting experiences listed on Leon/A6/MK4 Golfs by others.
Shallow fit, crossover is in the speaker - most folks rave about them, currently on sale on a number of sites:

Re: DPX-7000DAB - Anything else I should consider?

Ooh, liking those !!

Only thing is, without a full grill would they be protected enough from the kids feet ?
And could those tweeters be fitted flush in the door spaces next to the handle ? Looks like they come in wee pods.

Re: DPX-7000DAB - Anything else I should consider?

Another good shout - Getting the Kenwood OEM antenae to match the head unit.
Comes with all good reviews etc, and figured it would be easier to match lke-for-like to save any compatibility issues, and isn't a punt for the cheapest on Ebay.

Re: DPX-7000DAB - Anything else I should consider?

Hahaha ! :D Wow.. That is truly a setup to aspire to and bet it sounds amazing :) I can get get decent 10% off at Halfrauds as I'm a British Cycling member, so brings it down even lower. Thinking the headunit first then fitting rear speakers. Biggest regret was not getting these fitted when I first ...
