Re: B5.5 issues

Possible VNT mech in your turbo getting stuck (carbon build up) this forces limp mode as you say no lights ignition off and back on all good, foot down boost gone. I stripped and cleaned my turbo and started using millers additive and shell nitro. My car does mostly short trips about town, hence the...

Harness goes back to the fuse box the headlight switch and a relay needs to be installed into the relay plate. Hope this help...

If as above the washer jet follows the wiper sweep a kit part No 8L0998711 will sort this.
Had exactly the same issue took the panel off and dried out the latch then WD40 to drive out any hidden moisture.
All good :D

When i changed my mirrors to the 04 type i also changed the wings to the blank non- repeater type the indicator wiring goes through a bung on the inner wing behind the dash above each side kick panel tap in there pal.
I simply pushed them through and connected them there.
Hope this helps :D

Re: Overheating on hills?????

The water pump is a common fail as the shaft looses its grip on the impeller ( plastic strips out)
The hotter the engine water gets the less revolutions from the impeller(slipping).
Hope this makes some sense.
This is by far the most common cause of overheating on B5 and B5.5

Brake light switch mate all day :D Brake light switch under the brake pedal, an easy item to locate a bit temperamental and easily broken when fitting the new one. Just be mindful if you drive this without replacing the switch you will have only your high level brake light or worse case none at all...
