so as above, slowed on b road to go through floodwaters last winter... loud twang noise from rear... was sure a spring had broken, found 3" section of roadspring in the road.. soon after changed dampers, had MOT, no broken spring found, presumed spring section had been flicked up and hit bottom...

Changing my 4300k 35w for 55w. They were cheap and reliable but not very very bright. Give an error when starting the car in the dark as the auto lights wants to power them on.

630-690 pd170 140k saloon b6 with Pirelli p7 blue tyres. Going as fast as I can all the time.

How did this go then?

My clutch has long spongy vague feel to its biting point. I think a prev owner used it as a handbrake.

Weepy turbo seal I think.

Maybe Fuel filter... Cheap and easy to replace...

Check the backs of your discs, mine were corroded at the inner and outer. I cleaned them off best I could with a file and new pads and huge improvement. Temporary of course... New discs will be needed soon.

Yeah I think they all have lift pumps in the tank. Access under the rear seat bench, under the cover. Have a look to get the part number off the top and hear if it's whirring like it should/ shouldn't ... I googled the part number, found it on Ecp then typed the sku in on that other site which is Ec...

Perhaps try a different power supply, (different fuse) or a little inline noise suppressor... Could the flicker be noise from the a/con..?

Fitted a new one (well from a dismantled new engine) and it pulls properly now. Still puffs oil at idle but only as the turbo is not boosting/spoiled. Probably a new turbo needed.

Crankcase vent pressure regulation valve in the rocker cover.

I had a rad go - found the big pink stalagtite on the back low down. Not a bad job to replace diy. 2 rad types possible.

Not sheared propshaft bolts is it? You'll need to borrow/gather all your extension bars to check

U fitting a quick shift?

Run some turbo cleaner thru. Couple of tanks and some spirited drive might ease it. Also try deliberately keeping the revs over 1950 which is where boost starts proper. It should seem a lot more lively. Perhaps you got some fuel which it doesn't like as much?

No mick. We called that auto-autohold. It's to do with the abs unit whether it can be set up like that. Earlier ones just cannot. It's a shame- I had a hire car a 13 golf and it worked so much better.

For the whistle does it seem like a police siren? If so there is endless debate as to whether it is normal and not a negative in any way, or the beginning of the end of the turbo. For the white smoke- no idea on that one sorry
