Re: Time to say goodbye to my passat
I did look at big Diesel engines, like the 3series 335d but they attract a major premium over the petrol. Since I wanted a low mileage model I would be paying around 3 to 4k for a diesel. To be honest I didn't even look at an Audi, I was offered this BMW at a good price and went for it. The only iss...

Time to say goodbye to my passat
Is not because I'm not happy with my B6, it's because I got bored of diesels and need to spice my driving. I might regret it since the car has been good and (touch wood) haven't had any major problems apart from the normal EGR valve. In return I got a BMW 3-Series 335i m sport touring. First thing I...

Re: Air Con not working
AC can be very complex. have you checked if the fuses are ok, done a regas and checked for leaks? If the system is low it won't even start. I would take it to an expert but they all going to be busy since most people only use the AC in the summer, when it's too late and the systems break.

Re: Arches Bubbling
They did but I said no, I'm not paying for this. Is not my fault your product failed within 6 years of being built. The dealer said they would be paying for it. A call to VW customer services and all was sorted. They did a very good job I have to admit.

Re: Found rust on 59 Highline Passat...
Having full service history from VW will show them you are committed to the brand. also remember the body needs to have regular checks to validate the warranty. These are only done at VW. Will be much harder for them to not approve it when you done all the work with them.

Rear lights and broken clip
Hello guys I need your help. I had to replace both outer rear lights on my 2009 Passat estate. Job was easy to complete but I managed to break something! There is a washer/nut which is made of plastic which its job is to keep the light secured and in place. Well I managed to turn it a step to far an...

I also had my wing done at ridgeway in Newbury. Did they try and charge you for the trims on the front doors? They painted the front wing and blended the door but this meant a new door trim. I said no and complained to vw who paid for trim

Re: Found rust on 59 Highline Passat...
I had my front wing replaced a few weeks ago. Call customer services with the reference number from the dealer and make a complaint. The dealer wanted to charge me for the trim on the front door and for car hire. I called and complained and got it sorted. It will help if the car has a full VW servic...

Rust on front wings
Hello all. Just checking how many of ou have had rust on your front wings, specially on 2009+ cars. Noticed today one of the front wings has a few bubbles coming trough. Went to my local VW dealer who took pics and has submitted my claim to vw. Will have to wait until a week to get a response. What ...

Re: What an idiot....
From now on only a high pressure washer will be used to clear it. I'm sure a good polish will resolve the problem but the car was pretty clean with only a few minor marks.

What an idiot....
Fuming I have to be honest and proper idiot. I managed to scratch my bloody car! We'll sort off. I take extra care when cleaning bird poo from any car and this week was no diferent. But I guess the birds must have eaten rocks instead to fruit. I had three poos on te bonnet and one on the door, clean...

Re: Any one with a spare rear light?
It is urgent but if I could save a few £ I wouldn't say no. It's going for the test shortly and if it fails I will have to get a new one. We are going away this weekend so timing wise wasn't a good one. Let's see what they say...

Re: Any one with a spare rear light?
To pass the mot it needs at least 50% to pass. It's border line, sometimes I have over other times less. I know I can get a new one for £66, but always happy to save some money.

Any one with a spare rear light?
Hi all. I know its a long shot! But anyone around berkshire with a spare outer rear light (offside) for an estate? My car is due for an MOT on Saturday morning and don't think I will have time during the day to get a replacement. I would prefer to avoid it failing and take it back for a re test. If ...

Re: 235/40 18 Budget tyre suggestions
You only got 18k on your last set, is that including the rears? I would get the wheel geometry checked once you get new tyres. I think you may have a problem or down to your driving style. I know it's difficult to spend many £'s on tyres an I won't talk about the safety benefits. But some brands do...

Drove for around 25 miles last night in low gears and then at motorway speeds but keeping revs high. Will see if it helped when I drive today.

Re: Smoke and maybe DPF related
My car is doing to vw on Saturday for a major service. I will check the service book and will check if they will check as part of the service. Thank you for the feedback. I hoped is is the reason and not turbo related!

Re: Smoke and maybe DPF related
My car has done 120k. I will take it for a good run later on tonight and hope it calms down. Then in the mornin I will check what happens. But I can tell you it's enough smoke to cover the back window!

Smoke and maybe DPF related
When my car is driven most of the time is town driving, so not much time for the DPF regenerate. Also the car can be weeks parked outside my house. So today after two weeks not using it I notice some smoke coming from the exhaust. Can I add the dpf was regenerating since at idle the revs were around...

Re: Anyone order one?
Currently driving two demos both se business but with a few options like leather. One is a saloon and the other estate. First impressions are good since its a life time ahead of the B6/7 interior. Nice detains even if most of it is the same as the golf. One thing I really don't like is the cheap clo...
