Re: AWX occasional limp mode & noisy under boost
Hi, thanks for the reply and the sense of dread at the same time, LOL! I have since got nmy bro to scan it with vag com and there is a boost deviation code which we cleared and are gonna check the car over this week, another scan and a bit of a strip down. Will report back to see if the error code h...

AWX occasional limp mode & noisy under boost
As per title really, my old girl has done 160k now - I have owned since about 130k and she has always pulled really well. I've got no black smoke that I can see, no real drop in mpg, but she is sometimes dropping off into limp mode, most times when the car is pretty cold from work, but I have to mod...

Re: B5.5 indicators staying on
Sorry, to be clearer, they are on all the time NOT flashing....
I think it looks to be the CCM relay at fault, from internet research..
Left indicator functions as normal even while the other side is stuck on.

B5.5 indicators staying on
Does this sound like a CCM issue? I have had this before where a couple of lock / unlock cycles sort it out, but today I tried about 15 - 20 times and no joy. I have ended up dis-connecting the battery now but am a bit stuck? Tried google and searching on here and not found any info other than a CCM...

Re: B5.5 estate - Touran rear wiper
I've just measured my Golf 5 one and it's 330mm long. Cheers. that is shorter. I have just tried bending the blade flat a few times and it is getting better, removing nearly all of the water on each sweep, gonna keep having a go at it every time I remember. Will teach me to buy cheap poo eh, LOL. L...

Re: front discs
Karl / desertstorm posted these up a while back for someone, I just bought and fitted to my 52 plate 130 TDi so, yes they are correct, great price for such quality products imho, 288mm discs indeed.

Re: B5.5 estate - Touran rear wiper
Hm, mine is a 52 plate so parks left, but as you say shoudl make no difference. Could you measure yours for me, I'm wondering if this is too long and just making the blade lift slightly. I do have a mate with a Mk5 so I may be able to try that. Alternatively, I may just buy a Mk5 blade and hope it i...

Re: What Gearbox Oil for my 1.9tdi PD 5 speed?
Ouch.
I had the g/box oil on my previous 6 Spd Sport one done, as that had a horrible notchy change, but it didn't make a massive difference really.
The change was still poo from 2nd to 3rd and finding 2nd was a bit of a game sometimes, whenever my mate drove it he couldn't find it at all.

Re: What Gearbox Oil for my 1.9tdi PD 5 speed?
That listing states it's final drive oil, as in diff / axle oil... Is this the same spec as actual gearbox oil?
Been thinking of doing my 5 speed now she's on 149k and I have no idea if it's been done, on original clutch or not.
Have also thought of putting Slick 50 in it too.. anyone used this?

So I need some bits pre MOT
Managed to scrounge a ramp at a friends workplace last night, did an oil and filter change last night and had a poke around to find the knocking coming from the car and to suss it out a couple of months pre MOT. I need a O/S upper rear front suspension arm (already got), a lower rear N/S one and new...

Guys, which side is meant to have the slightly longer / offset blade, driver or passenger side (RHD) ?
I think mine were the wrong way round, but I've left them like it, about to order a new one for the drivers side but unsure if it is currently correct..

B5.5 estate - Touran rear wiper
Anyone else done this, just put one on mine but haveing trouble with the wiper clearing the water effectively. It is a cheapo pattern one, so might be just the poo blade, but wondered if it's just too big or wrong angle for the motor shaft length on the Passat? 80% of the sweep is fine, judder free,...

What is the snub mount, rear of gearbox? Mine "donks" if I lift the clutch too quickly of late, 148k miles.crazy4alfa wrote:Engine ones are hydrolic so no leaks = fine, snub mount could be worn if engine lifts up and down. Only transmition mounts can be inspected.
Any ideas...?

I improved mine from about 43 to 47 by replacing the thermostat, green temp sensor, di-electric greased the MAF plug, and all sensors I could find and replaced my worn aux belt, tensioner and alternatior pulley. Nice and smooth and computer tells me 47.5 av. - short 6 mile commute, only using 5th ge...

Re: B5.5 Suspension - one for Karl...
Cheers Karl, I'll bookmark that, was going to spend about £100 on springs and then get some new front shocks at about £65+ P&P too, so similar money and I get a whole set of new shocks. I'm not after really pimping the car and only use it for commuting really, but it is a bit sloppy and high, ...
