2002 TDi AWX cambelt kits - help!
Guys, been looking for a cambelt kit for mine, as above, found a part number of 038 109 119 on the net, from a specialist (genuine but cheaper than dealer) but then when I called the dealer to check they gave me the same number with a P at the end - can anyone shed any light on this? I need to get t...

Re: Winter tyres
I use them and have Continentals at the mo. Contrary to popular belief you can use them all year, but they are designed to be used at anything under 7 deg C - as another poster says. Tyre makers state that if you have to use one type only, then it is better to run winters all year - but they do wear...

Cheap place for a CV joint?
Guys,
where would be my cheapest option for a N/S outer CV joint / kit?
Been quoted £135.32 @ TPS - I was only expecting them to say circa £50 ! !
Need this by Monday or Wednesday.... mate has a space in his schedule and it's getting really noisy now!
Cheers, Jay.

Re: Estate tailgate not opening
Mine didn't work at all when I got it, I have just taken the boot panelling off and the switch / solenoid was un-plugged. Now I can use the driver's door button / switch if I'm quick at getting round to the back. Button on key still won;t work - is that likely to be because the actual tailgate butto...

Would a set of 17 inch with 255/40/17 tyres fit OK on my SE?

Guys, no noise at all, washer pipe seems to be off by the washer bottle, as using the rear pump dumps it on the floor by the front of the car.

Wagon tailgate only opens with key...
Guys, as per title, my 2002 Wagon won't let me in the boot via the remote key, the interior button, or the boot release button, I have to use the key. Any ideas? the button up there by the number plate lights does feel strange as if it's brokem but then why would it stop the rest working? Any ideas ...

Dim lights B5.5
Hi all, my lights are pretty poo to be honest on dip beam, have considered a HID kit, but I also saw this and wondered if it would be worthwhile to help my uprated bulbs - or are these aimed more at the Mk2 Golf etc. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SX3-VW-CORRADO-GOLF-UPRATED-HEADLIGHT-WIRING-LOOM-SAFE_W0QQit...

Yeah what a nob these are.
I got my mate to have a look - he's a mechanic, embarassign for me, have rebuilt engines before but thsi did my head in.
You have to twsit the bulbs out with the wiring still connected and then seperate it all,. Easy once you've seen it done, bloody typical.

Re: Dont make me angry....
Got a top tip form my mechanic friend.
Give them a whack or 2 with the palm of your hand or side of your fist, where the hinged bit is, just along from the spindles.
Easy, give it a go, worked fine, no screwdrivers or pullers needed.

Re: Front Side Lights...
Nowt attd mate.
You need push-fit 5w5 i think they're called. Easy, remove rear covers off lights, locate 2 wires and plug where it sits and just pull away to get them out. you may have to be harder than you'd think with them but don't worry, they do come out.

Re: PD TDi 130 service £240 - good or bad?
Well, it just goes to show what assumptions are. I've just called nearest VW dealer and a Gold service is what covers all of that stuff I wanted and they have an offer on at the moment and it comes to £165. Apparently some of the filters are only required every 4 years? so they will check my servic...

Re: PD TDi 130 service £240 - good or bad?
Not asked VW, nearest is 20 odd miles away, Skoda is a 2 min walk from home. I enquired at Indy's a few months back and was quoted around £200 everywhere. Its a full service including proper PD oil, fuel, oil, air & pollen filters. Not really a massive amount to do really is it, even the fuel f...

Cheers for the replies. I was suspicious for the cash to be honest. I had my eye on a Dragon tuning box the other week but forgot to bid on it. That had a seperate power lead and I think they are a good couple of hundred quid new. I am tempted to remap it but at 123k - and I think the original clutc...

Re: Fully or semi synthetic
Personally, I'd only bother with fully if it were a 1.8T , I would think VW only specify a semi-synth for this as standard. Unless you spin it up to 5000rpm+ all the time and drive like a hooligan then I'm sure semi-synth will be fine - and save you the best part of £20 per service.
