just poking my head into the door to see what you're up to with my ol' gal! I'm glad to see you've still got her on the road, though I expected no less having witnessed what an effortless master of 'f*ckitletstrythisinstead' you are!
there is something in the post for you this week ;) if i get my ...
Well I have some progress and success to report! <no it's no fixed yet lol>
Cheltenham is treating me to some sunshine today, so armed with a little booklet and pen, i set out to get numbers from the Diesel Pump, Air Mass, and Hopefully and Engine number to save me having to find the first two ...
today we seem to have had a nice break in the rain at last. so I'm going to go out to the passat to hopefully collect an ecu number and engine code. if that works out then I can order a gasket set for her once I've identified once and for all what lump is in her.
EGR valves are notorious for blocking up with oily soot and sludge,.. once the valve has blocked it begins to make your car sluggish, it can idle poorly, and generally hinders smooth running of your superb vw oil burner.
removing the EGR removes these possible hinderances - I have even heard it can ...
Well I have had to have the day off work <silver lining… clouds..> due to this which is he;ping me clear my head - you can tell i was in a bad place yesterday… get rid of my B3? NEVER!
So I'm coming round to the idea, that I've never really liked he messy install on this engine,.. the dirt, on ...
thanks for all the information mate. the problem seems to escalating and I'm unsure what to do... given the worth of the car.
I have a tiny amount of fizzing in the expansion tank when the engine is running, the water is dissapearing slowly, coolant rushes into the expansion tank when I take the ...
frustratingly,... my 30 mile trip today went very well for approx 25 miles,.. in the last 5 miles the temp went up to 90 twice,... both times it seemed to suddenly recover too, accompanied with the heater going cold and then regaining heat once the temp had gone back down. coolant was still in ...
Well! she's back on the road with new discs, pads and callipers. It took quite some time wrestling with old brake pipe unions (man, they were a proper pain in the unmentionables…) seized disc locating screws, and general old car stuff problems!
However,.. dashing in and out of the rain i managed ...
Well I am no longer going to recon the calipers even though biggred kits look good... at least not for use on my car, as i can get Brand new units for £33 a side from work - the lucas number i managed to cross reference went over to to LC3338 and LC3339's... this in turn crossed to a Delco caliper ...
It is a little oddball - but MUCH wilder engines have been put into B3's than this - this 1.9tdi drops straight in … I'm not sure why you would give it a wide berth due to a non original engine? I saw it as a bonus :-) especially since it goes like a scalded cat! I have to admit the car was a bit ...
Broken down this morning, so frustrating, happily buzzing along at 65 on the M5 when the temp gauge suddenly shoots up, nursed it to junction 7 of the M5 <where i broke down last time!!!> and left it there. coolant was bubbling away and i could here hissing from a pipe but I couldn't see where it ...
However - my 6.5" components don't quite fit right in, having said this - only a little widening of the holes is required on the outer speaker ring and then they will indeed fit in just fine.
I got these speakers dirt cheap a couple of years ago in the clearance section ...
Still motoring on as usual in her, making some small changes as time allows, which means progress is sloooow!
However - I have got round to begin to sort the ICE out on this,.. i'm not into a huge builds, just want some good quality sounds to come from the thing! So - my speakers and enclosures ...
