Another bike rack Q...
Could anyone with Thule roof mounted racks (looking at the 591) tell me whether they would be ok for a BMX. Going away next week and I've been told the kids bikes are coming with us....nothing like last minute .com
(not on the Passat - the Octavia)

Hi All, I'm after the best place to get some heavy duty top suspension arms (are there front and back ones at the top???) - the garage has informed me they are toast... The last time I ordered some Meyle ones from ebay, but as I remember Lemforder are just as good? B5.5 2.5 TDI Estate 2003 Cheers, R...

Yep.
Never use them, in fact their no longer wired to my headunit!
Kids used them when they were little to watch DVD's on journeys, but now they're inseparable from their tablets....

Re: Tyre Size Question
Yep , always have your best tyres on the back whether fwd , rwd or awd . Why's that Gaz? A few people on Forums have said that. I've always driven fwd cars and put the best tyres on the front (the roads I usually drive are often muddy and puddled, so having better tread on the front reduces the ten...

What car Ryan? Not a passat  I did go and see it, but didn't really think it was worth the (top-end) asking price - no negotiation from their end despite rank alloys a beautiful set of ditchfinders, a crappy spare and an aftermarket CD player - SH present through service book (but no bills), ...

HI Blog - "You do have a defence though, and that’s section 27 of the Hire Purchase Act (1964). This says that if you buy a car in good faith and the vendor doesn’t tell you of any outstanding finance agreements, you still have good title to the car." So if he's telling me it's all sor...

Phone the finance company yourself and ask for written proof . They won't give me proof verbal or otherwise as I am not involved in the car as far as they are concerned - just Joe Public. According to the Car Sales place the finance company forwarded them the fax, as they now have the vehicle and w...

So I think I know what the answer will be regarding this, but I'll ask anyway... I've done a HPI check on a prospective car purchase and the report came back as the car having unpaid finance against it. I rang the finance company and they confirmed that they still have an interest. In the meantime t...

Re: Coilovers or springs
Good choice with the V6 TDI! I've got Weitec coilovers on mine (for over 50k miles now!) and it handles brilliantly (for a barge). Now though, I'd rather have lowering springs and sport shocks fitted - just for practicality - I don't need it this low, and it's back as a work wagon, so site entrances...

I'm getting a wide range of valuations for it as a part ex. Some of which are just not worth it - I could break it and get another 50% of the price without too much bother...
Would a grand be a fair trade in price?
I think I'd expect £1750 in a private sale.

What have you got your eye on? Numerous VAG TDI estates...... (not going 4wd now...) The Mrs needs parking sensors and sat nav along with heated seats.... Also must be a manual. I'd like Xenons, as once you've had them you don't want to go back! (I came back from Brum over Clee Hill the othe...
