Re: Watch out if selling, oil in coolant scam!

I didnt want this to escalate into a race issue as there are good and bad people everywhere. It was just a heads up in case this happens to another member.

I ended up selling the car to my Polish workmate and friend for a bit less and he has got it sorted.

Watch out if selling, oil in coolant scam!

Just a heads up in case nobody is aware of this scam by buyers if you are selling your car. For convenience I listed my B6 VW Passat TDi Sport Estate with on Gumtree looking for a quick local sale. Within minutes I had a call from a hard to understand gent who was keen to view ASAP and was about 140...

Re: B1 coupe

VW Audispares in Angmering did break a 1977 LHD coupe a while back. Might be worth a call to see if he still has the dash. Other than that if it has the usual two massive cracks in the middle then cover with furry fabric :D Get the pics up man and don't forget to like my facebook page: https://www.f...

Re: B1 rear screen seal

All window rubbers appear to be obsolete. There are companies in the uk that can make them if you them a cross section of your old one. I cant be sure but something I saw on the net said they were about £400! I could do with a full set so I can do a windows out repaint in the future. Another avenue...

Re: Coilovers.. Again but few different questions.

I have a set of struts already converted for a B2. They were bought ready made from a fella that never used them on his car. I thought they would fit my B1 and they do, kind of. My mate made them fit by chopping a few inches out of my steering rods but the ackerman angle is all wrong. They are comin...

Ah yes that must be my old B2 as the guy in Wales did some random extra wiring. He wired the choke warning as he was concerned over it running rich for too long and wearing the bores!

What plans do you have for the car?

Looking forward to more updates.

Re: MAF sensor = Passat VS Sharan AFN Engine

My AFN Passat has seemed a bit flat lately so when I was in GSF I enquired about a new MAF. They said a Bosch one was £65+vat so might be worth going to your local branch. I think they want your old one back as there was a £25 surcharge.

I think I may have a nos pair of these but they are not with me at the moment. Will have a look tomorrow and get back to you. I cant help with the other bit unless you post a pic, if its the same as a pre-facelift you could try vwaudispares in Angmering who is breaking a 77 B1.

They were available from Hadrian a couple of years ago as we had to use the 4 door ones for my coupe. Re: Daily-use B1

In the UK we just dont have the weather to run a B1 everyday. As you know they love to rust so gritted salt roads in the winter will kill mine. It also has a leak into the interior when it rains so I stick with the TDi B5 most of the time.

I messaged Andy about it and he said he had decided to keep it but who knows these MK1 Coupes are like evil mistresses!

If anyone buys it I have a good passenger seat base cover and complete recliner part.
