Re: DRIVE SHAFT C.V. BOOT SEVERELY DETERIORATED N/S INNER

A lot easier to replace the whole driveshaft with new boots already on, by the time you have took the shaft off and replaced the boot which may have already let dirt ingress the labour time would overtake just swapping the shaft, JR Driveshafts are not expensive, not too sure on your exact model but...

I put Eibachs on my Sport, didn't go low about 25mm, still felt stock but less roll in corners, about 160 quid a set

Did you fit the switch correctly first time as I believe they are single use only and if you didn't then it's goosed.

Re: B5.5 Boring and on a Budget!

I managed to remove and refit the 110 without taking scuttle or wipers off, just removed the rubber seal at bulkhead and unclipped the loom, tricky and tight but doable.

Re: B5.5 Boring and on a Budget!

I managed to order one, can’t believe the prices. I guess there’s not much choice if it’s needed. I tried the old bracket a few different ways but it’s not holding it super tight. I’m sure there’s some way of fitting it but it was raining and unbelievable winds. It’s not too bad atm but I rather ha...

Re: B5.5 Boring and on a Budget!

I had the same problem as you 110 and 096 so i just stuck a 110 iirc as thats what was fitted, if you go the other way 096-110 then the bracket is ok I believe.

Re: Brake pedal on idle

I think this is just normal, I've had quite a few VW's and Audi's and they all seem to does this on idle, constant hard pressure on the pedal they go down slowly but don't hit the floor, it's like a pressure bleed off feeling, never had an issue with any of the brakes though.

Think it's 6V before the smart charger kicks in, I bought one for the BMW that had been sitting for months, battery was down to 4 volts and charger wouldnt kick in, had to do the same as you and boost it, got up to 6 volts and it worked, left it over night on condition and battery was fine.

I think the DMF is about 4-5yrs old, and as I have had a stage one remap and other few bits n bobs it does seem likely it could be this then. It hadn't crossed my mind that a DMF has any 'springs' etc as in my head I thought it was solid. Not had any dealings with one before so I usually learn abou...
