Odd one but a faulty brake light switch can throw errors on dash like glow plug icon etc, maybe similar?

Re: Occasionally wont start

The values should add up to around Zero so -0.38 + -0.38 + -0.05 + +0.78= -0.03

For non starting sometimes check crankshaft sensor.

Re: What Wheel Size and Offset on Coilovers B6?

I would always go good springs and shocks over coils for a daily personally and Eibach are one of the best, if it's the 25mm lowering kit then standard shocks are fine, Eibach do 2 kits not sure for the B6 though but the other kit I think is 40-50mm lower, I wouldn't use standard shocks with those.

Re: Fault Code 01314.

I had a car for mapping that couldn't access the ECU, I took the battery leads off and held them together for 30 secs to discharge the system and it let me in after reconnecting the battery, worth a try.

You can get the 110 out without removing scuttle, you just remove rubber and unclip harness and move it out the way, done mine a few times.

Re: EGR 'thrppp' noise

What Gaz is trying to ascertain is whether is it the later type that will throw and engine light if the EGR pipe is plugged or not, early ones can be plugged and not throw a light, the changeover was around 03 so yours could be either, if it's early then as Gaz says just plug the vac pipe and forget...

Re: VCDS Problem

If it connected to the ABS controller then it's working and port is OK, I have had this before where access was blocked out to engine controller, try disconnecting the battery and hold the terminals together for 30 secs, then reconnect battery and try again.

Could be doing a regen, idle slightly high, fans on etc, get it warmed up and blast the nuts off it, hold it in high revs.

I've seen this when a generic map has been put on instead of taking off the original and mapping that, I had to sort an Audi that the fans were on all the time because of this, who mapped it?

Ah you are in N.I., well if I were you I would go and see Paul at Dubtech in Ballymoney, he is one of the best if not the best VAG tech in N.I., he will run all the checks and remap it.

Re: Is this a good battery for my 2002 tdi 130bhp estate?

Many thanks for all the advice guys. Here's a few pic of the battery currently on the car. https://i.imgur.com/hn9PTsB.jpg https://i.imgur.com/136xCxK.jpg What's the best bet for this spec? Cheers Pete You need a 110 one, guessing you may have heated seats or some extra electrics or was just specce...
