You can buy a B4, or any other car and go through the hole scenario again plus B3's seem to be better protected from rust. Personally I would possible try the sealer and then if that worked I would get the head gasket done and once that's done you should be good to go.

They will fit but you will have to make up a bracket for the side bits as the b4 bumper dose not have the slidey bits, I do have bumper iron kicking about if you need it,it's not brilliant but useable as is, where are you located and there was a couple new ones on german e-bay last time ...

I changed the metal sunroof for the moon roof on the van and it was a straight forward job using a b4 moon roof and keeping the b3 sunroof motor and if I remember where the drain holes are its plastic.
