I just dont wanna buy a crappy base to start off with.jasonbrooks1575 wrote:read desertstorm thread im sure he did 6 speed

Re: what b5 to start off with????
Go with the b5,5 sport... after been inside a b5 they are geberally a lot more comfy and more aesthetically pleasing to look at in my opinion. Also they have the most power and torque :) pretty quick to start with and ive had just shy of 60mpg out of mine so good on juice too

I have no real experince of this but i have been googling alot recently and as far as i know the fronts will need fab work on the runners and the rears u would have to put the foam and covers on your old frames. Sticking to off the shelf parts what's your perfect passat ?
I like the idea of a b4 tdi syncro, not sure what engine i would use but i hear stories of the 110bhp diesel goin up to 150 bhp with injectors and a remap, so all i need now is a corrado g60, oh and the small matter of my b4 being petrol ...

Hi every 1, great forum. I have spoke to some of you in the b3/b4 forum, had some great advice and am already tinkering with my passat.
Anyway thought i would say hi and tell you all how i came accross my 96 passat 1.8cl b4 variant. I got it about 3 years ago paid £250 with 70000 miles on the ...

Re: advice for my 1.8cl variant
The rev needle thing... Our mk2 (recent purchase) does that while it's cold, then sorts itself out as it gets up to temperature. I'm not worrying about it, but if yours does it both cold AND whilst hot, it should be investigated. Could just be the pivot on the throttle body and the cable needing ...

Re: advice for my 1.8cl variant
Wouldn't worry too much about getting parts from VW, usually I use Euro Car Parts and get the branded bits, Beru, Bosch, Lemforder, sachs etc. They're just what you get from VW just without the logo on the box and therefore a bit cheaper. A few weeks ago I got a Beru distributor cap from there and ...

bolt straight on
Im a bit of a newb to customizing any car let alone these rare b3 and b4's, so i thought it might be a good idea to have a thread dedicated to all the straight bolt on parts from more popular cars.
i will start with a really easy 1, you will all know this 1 but i think its a hidden gem
