Have a look on Ebay for some LED - festoon or whatever you need.
Take a couple of weeks to come but cheap as chips and might be just what you needed!

Re: 1.8T Keeps feeling like it's going to stall but doesn't
It's an 063 44ah- Mine has a genuine VW Battery that is probably about 4 years old but am pretty sure that this is the right one. Also the one listed for my car at ECP. I think for £33 quid I'll buy one and see. I have got VAG.com but only the shareware version and don't really know what I'm doing!...

Re: 1.8T Keeps feeling like it's going to stall but doesn't
Thanks. I don't think that its ever had one. My poor old dad - he let me have the car for free but I phone him once a week to say "has it ever had..." Nice to know the history from new though... Am I right in thinking that GSF are about the best place to get one from. Can they be cleaned o...

1.8T Keeps feeling like it's going to stall but doesn't
My battery seems to have gone pretty flat - heated seats lights and I only use it for commuting. Gave the battery a couple of hours of charge yesterday and span up quickly and started on the button this morning. Thing is - everytime I come to a junction or stop for traffic revs drop to about 500rpm....

That's the same layout as mine. CLIMATE CD CUBBY Just bear in mind that you will need little hands to shove the ISO connector up behind the climate - if i'm honest mine rattles slightly but it's fine. I just went for a Halfords special offer £60 from £160 - fine - colours quite a good match but th...

So has nobody on here had an AEB done?
I'm too scared to cos of my mileage but keep looking around - don't Custom Code do something with the non-drive by wire? Am I confused? Is the AEB a different beastie?

Thanks guys...go on you know it makes sense... I thought I might cook up a few Chicken Satay Sticks in the engine bay... Don't worry I have seen sense and bought some Armour All Matt Finish Wipes for the interior. They are good but I couldn't help but wonder if the dash would come up lovely with som...

Re: Best Price Component Speakers that are easy to fit!
Thanks Bass Junkies are only up the road in Wolverhampton... I'm still thinking of the Alpine 1750's but they do only handle 30W RMS - my head unit is 4x50RMS (so it says) + if I go for an amp(s) later...£32.99 on Bass Junkies. I quite like the look of the Fusion bright green speakers - be nice to ...

Re: Quick fix for Black Trim?
My Black Trim is really faded. Just tried some Tesco Smooth Peanut Butter. I went mad - not value but I think it was 44p. The side strips mid door and the bottom of the bumpers looking absolutely amazing - not quite so good on the bottom black bits on the sills but my knees were hurting. I'll do it ...

Re: Best Price Component Speakers that are easy to fit!
Cheers. No it doesn't have a preout - it was only £60 from Halfords - didn't really think at the time - having fitted it myself(ish) I know that it wouldn't take much to change - presume that I would also need to run a lead down the drivers side for the RCA leads and power down the passenger side. ...

Best Price Component Speakers that are easy to fit!
I've upgraded to a Kenwood CD Player - might need to change this since I would really like to add a little extra bass so presume I need RCA Preout to drive a Sub. I'm a bit unsure where to go here - budget is limited but don't just want a bass heavy system. I thought some component speakers and mayb...

Fruitier Exhaust back box for B5?
I've probably been watching too much Fast and the Furious on my nice big new TV but was thinking....is there a nice and cheap option for a fruitier back box for my B5 1.8T Estate. I know that Milltek do a system which I'm sure is cool but really expensive and seems to only fit from 2000 on. Havn't g...

You say that you needed adaptors to make these fit? - They look like they have got plenty of mounting points?

Re: Hissing Noise when I stop - Advice Please
Thanks for all the comments. I've had the aircon switched to Auto since I've had the car. Noticed a bit of water underneath but realised that it wasn't coolant. I think i'm just having one of those "something must be wrong with it" weeks. If that's the case then I need to get some HID's or...

Hissing Noise when I stop - Advice Please
I don't know if this is a problem or not. I've noticed that when I stop and get out of the car there is a bit of a hissing noise from somewhere in the engine bay. I don't seem to be losing any coolant...or oil... Is this paranoia or the start of something serious? Is there a scientific way of testing?

Re: 98 b5 2.8 syncro mpg?
I used to have a VR6 2.8 Sharan - could push it up to 30mpg - 26 on the motorway whatever speed - averaged 24mpg. It all depends on how much you use it and if it will around town. Used to sit it traffic after parking in Exeter and get 10mpg - soon improves once you are moving / longer journeys. I kn...

I think Forge do the Silicon hoses.com stuff - I would have thought not too expensive for a small piece.

Mine is split too - AEB engine.
Can someone confirm what this does?
Presume can just buy some replacement hose of the correct length rather than back to VW or 2nd hand?
