I have the same car and this same thing has happened loads of times allthough VCDS shows nothing. You have to keep turning the engine to get it going again..

Hi folks the bushings in behind the bolts in the picture seem to be worn but how are they replaced, is there a lot of ripping getting them out???You are looking at the rear of the car near the diesel tank..

Hi lads any idea of what pins I should change as I have the climate control as opposed to just air con like Jaraz.

There is only 2 bolts holding on the cannister so it only takes a few minutes to remove it and empty the water.

The B5 was manufactured from 97 to 00 and then the 5.5 from then until 05.

The B6 is the Passat manufactured from 05-10 and the B7 from 11 until now. Your CC goes into this forum.

Sounds like a warped disc, every B6 seems to have the clunk when the steering wheel is moved from left to right..

A scrappy is your best bet to get the whole thing.

You can do it from standstill but the car must be at operating temperature also there is a risk of the car overheating so I always do it whilst the car is in motion.

OP has a common rail unit so this don't apply I agree though it should be scanned to see any faults that are logged.

Watching the range is a waste of time the only way to calculate is fill a empty tank to the brim then zero your trip meter and drive until tank is almost empty again.
