Cheers for that. I don't mean to be awkward but you don't have a pic of where you mean do you? I'm not 100% sure as to the source your referring too...
Thanks

Re: BLAUPUNKT CHICAGO 600
Usually the Blaupunkts will go straight in as its the same make as the original (I think). At worst you will need to swap the permanent and ignition live, but you can get a cable for this, bout £12 off amazon.
Hope this helps,

Re: Finally won the battle with vw.uk for rust repair.
What reason did they give for refusal? I'm going to see my VW dealer on Monday as I have rust patches on the rear panels of my 05 B6 and numerous rust bubbles on the doors.
Really not impressed with the finish of this, my 1998 B5 had better paint finish...

B6 aftermarket radio - switched live
Oky doky, I now know that there is no switched live on the B6 , so has anyone on here got an aftermarket radio? If so, how? I'm reluctant to send it to a audio installation place as I like to learn how to do these things... Can anyone please help? Does it involve a Canbus upgrade or is it a simple c...

Re: Switched/ignition live for after market radio/cd
Cheers guys. Think I'm going to sell the aftermarket unit and just buy a higher spec OEM unit, ie CD500 or something.
Its never bloody easy is it! ;)

Cheers for the response.
I've tried swapping them as its a Sony which come with handy plugs to swap them, unfortunately it's the same either way..
Surely there must be a way to do it?

Switched/ignition live for after market radio/cd
Can anyone who installed an aftermarket radio tell me how you got around the switched live, or lack of?
Doing my head in having to keep manually turning off the CD player when I'm getting our of the car! Lol.

I had a similar problem with blocked vents, changed the pollen filter which was major clogged up, probably never been changed, all ok now.
Has your pollen filter been changed recently?

Re: Intermittent wiper setting has mind of its own!
Yeah it's a sport, I did wonder if the first setting was auto. Does that mean that there is no intermittent setting then?
Sorry for the silly questions but this has never been explained to me.

Intermittent wiper setting has mind of its own!
Right, on to next problem! The intermittent wiper setting is completely random, and only works at all when the timer switch is set to the far right.
Has anyone had this issue before? Is it a simple case of replacing the stalk? Or is it more complicated?
Cheers

Re: Fan working.... But not..?
Changed the pollen filter today, debris started to fall out as soon as took the hatch off, it was caked in rubbish, I'm suprised any air got through at all! Hopefully sorted now. The fan comes on only to the 2nd bar now, was on the 3rd all the time before. Fingers crossed sorted, time will tell. Che...

Re: Fan working.... But not..?
Main dealers reckon it could be the pollen filter, so I'm going to give that a go! Can anywhere tell me where it's located in the b6 please?

Re: Fan working.... But not..?
Pop into your local friendly dealer parts dept and they'll look that up for you. Mine in Dartford will also give an ETKA printout. Although a printout of my oil pressure switch assembly listed correct part numbers, the diagram was wrong. There's also a set of CDs that include ETKA called Elsawin, do...

Re: audio upgrade
No worries, just get yourself a signal to line converter to give you the RCA outputs required. All you need to sort then that would be tricky is the remote lead connection. It's probably best if your not too familiar with it to pay someone to wire up the amp then fit the sub and speakers after as th...

Re: Fan working.... But not..?
Right, I've found on the floor of my drive a rubber flap, with a VW code of: 1K0121223, and from briefly looking online its an "air flow flap". Does anyone know where this is suppost to be? Or what exactly it does (apart from control air flow obviously!)? I'm quite sure that this must be c...

Re: audio upgrade
I'm just in the process of upgrading mine too. I'm starting with the speakers are they only have a rating of around 30w so my amp would blow them up if i did that first. Installing the amp would require a change of head unit for me as I need the pre-outs for the input on the amp. I need to buy a ada...

Re: Bonnet pop not popping!!
Sorted, managed to gain access through the vw badge, then having to remove a small plastic flap to get to the pull wire. I used needle nose pliers and twisted them to create the necessary tension to pop the bonnet. Ordered a new front cable as it seems to have broken, £8 from main dealer, cant grum...

Re: Bonnet pop not popping!!
Reet, I've discovered that the handle is working and the latch under the bonnet is moving, but just not releasing. Sticky bonnet latch?
That being the case, can anyone tell me how to release the bonnet latch to access my engine bay please?
Thanks
Jon

Ok, strange one this... My fan/ac has worked no probs, but having driven for a few hours on the motorway I noticed there wasnt much air flow coming through the vents. I turned the fan up to full, and heard the fan spinning up, but no faster air flow, almost like a blockage in the vents?? All the ven...
