This will allow for the removal of the whole lot wshould I need the whole boot for something. http://i34....

In thoery you are supposed to renew all the bolts that are greenish in colour, its an anti corrosion covering and is removed when undone.

Re: pinch bolts
Yeah you cant have a threaded bolt going through a ball joint. if you think about it all that would be sopping the ball joint moving up and down would be the pitch of the thread, these quickly wear out or fold over in those conditions and the ball joint can come loose.

Sometimes us guys really do have out work cut out for us. being as I work in a 'Luxury' dealer we get to play with Phaetons and Touaregs, which is a joy to be sure. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d134/Techie_1976/engine1.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d134/Techie_1976/engine2.jpg 5.0 V10 T...

Re: coilovers
All depends what you want to spend. I've got KW on my estate and the the ride is great. One good things is that they are stainless steel so the threads don't rust so sdjusting is really easy. How long have you had them, and have you tried to adjust them? Stainless steel will corrode to a degree, tr...

Re: pinch bolts
Neither old or new ones should be threaded all the way along.
IIRC they are black in colour when bought as a replacement part.

Re: OIL SENSOR WORKSHOP??
There should be a fault logged in the dash insert.
Could be a fault with the oil sensor in the sump or its wiring (ground out at all?)
If its not telling you to top up the oil your bonnet catch and wiring should be ok. do you have a bonnet open light?

Re: Rear interior lights stopped working????
Check out the various water leak threads and the sticky at the top of this section. There is usually a node joint in the wiring loom under the carpet behind the passenger seat, it gets water in it and breaks up. The joint is the take off fr the rear courtesy lights and the boot light.

Re: Pollen Filters - That Dreaded Leaking
Picture doesnt work but indeed you should have a sepeate rain channel that slides in under the scuttle to stop water pouring directly onto the top of the filter. You will need a new one and id remove and re seal the pollen filter housing.

Re: Wheel Bearing help
Its fairly easy to do providing you have an hydraulic press and your top pinch bolts arent seized. The inner race will probably stay with the drive flange when you press that out, easiest way to get it off is to very gently make a grove in it with a grinder and then knock it if. Remember when pushin...

Deffo not a drop in. The B6 seats bolt directly to the floor rather than hacing the runners int he floor like the B5 and B5.5.
Rear seats are also different.
