Re: 1.9 AWX sheared dipstick tube

i think most of us with b5.5s would have changed one of these at some point.
a tip maybe leave the tube in warm water as is very tight to fit you dont want it to break again even though it cost a couple of quid. i think i even gave mine a gentle bang with a hammer. dont recall any o-rings replacing.

Re: Turbo upgrade

I went for a tubro upgrade from LP turbos based in wakefield, it looks like you have most of the supporting mods fmic. I got a hybrid turbo which supports an extra 30bhp than a standard, when i spoke with the remapper he wanted to know the turbo flow rates, unfortunately LP was unable to provide as ...

First thing the turbo whine has gone, alot of people say its normal but after this i can say a turbo whine is not normal. Now its time to get the remap done. Sent from my SM-G95...

Re: Umsy's Jetta thread

On the 40 miles drive back home the temp didnt not hit 90, i had changed a thermostat on the old passat was quite simple. This engine looked hard work so asked mechanic to change. All good now hit and stays at 90. As you can see the condition of car is excellent never seen wings on a car of this era...

Re: Turbo recommendations

Car was owned by an elderly couple used for pottering around town hence the low mileage. it has been serviced regularly with invoices to prove. this type of driving causes problems for the turbo im led to believe. Ive had only TDIs all my driving life (18 years) so pretty confident it is the turbo, ...

Re: Turbo recommendations

mileage is 103k think its been driven locally alot so turbo is making the 'siren' like noise. i called a few places yesterday, one was £326 for a remanufactured turbo, one didnt get back to me, and the third which is the one im mostly interested in is a hyrbid turbo from LD parts services based in W...

Turbo recommendations

Jetta with BKD engine... i have a whining turbo and thought its a good time to do a few things to the car, mainly a recon turbo and egr delete and then remap.
Has anyone got any recommendations for a turbo supplier preferably in the northwest/lancashire.

Re: starter bad earth

I think it is a bad earth as with the temp fix it starts. no evidence my auto electrician skills are poor.
good point in fuse panel. Brand new battery fitted a few months ago.

Luckily got it in to auto electrician should be able to find where it is bad.

PASSAT cc 2011

After 14 years of one b5 and one b5.5 im thinking of upgrading to a 2011 CC.
Any common faults to look out for? or any advice?
Will be the family car, and is the one with 3 seats at the back, are these ok to fit 3 people as the side ones look abit bucket style.

thanks in advance.

Probably best going to a tyre place and get them to remove it and replace with a standard bolt. Let's be real why do standard alloys need locking nuts
