Re: whats my passat worth ?
Trade in price mean jack to be fair. If they've got a good margin in the car you are looking to buy, they can offer you more. It's all about the price to change. To true! used to work in sales at a main dealer, people would think they were getting huge prices for their trade in's as there was so mu...

Re: AWX 1.9 getting 36mpg?!
I improved mine from about 43 to 47 by replacing the thermostat, green temp sensor, di-electric greased the MAF plug, and all sensors I could find and replaced my worn aux belt, tensioner and alternatior pulley. Nice and smooth and computer tells me 47.5 av. - short 6 mile commute, only using 5th g...

Re: Differentiating between AWX and AVF 1.9 TDI engines?
The spec for an AVF engine means it has a different ECU with a different map, more torque 310Nm against 285Nm on an AWX. I do believe they were fitted to tiptronic cars as the auto doesn't have the same limitations with torque. Does the sport have a 6 speed box ? what year is it. Karl. Ahh I see tha...

Re: thinking of getting this vcds cable
Tried to warn you mate, on the plus side it is cheap and you can still use it to check/clear fault codes. You can still purchase a genuine Rosstec VCDS licence and use your cable and it will do everything you want it to do. ![Confused :-?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)

Re: thinking of getting this vcds cable
Just read the advert properly it states that it is for VW LT3 trucks and you can re-set the service indicator under the LT3 tab. Think you may be disappointed mate as it has no mention of having access for any other cars other than fault code reading and clearing. Bet it will come with a half sized...

Re: thinking of getting this vcds cable
I got this cable a couple of years ago, not sure if its the same seller but the cable is identical, The ebay seller said it had a full VCDS licenced copy and I paid a lot more back then. It works with most cars most of the time but does not have fully licensed VCDS it was just the lite version and w...

Cameron and his cronies makes me laugh :hyst do they honestly think if the s**t hits the fan after all the MOD cut backs and redundancies the army will stand between them and us? funny how they are supporting other countries in regime change, but they are planning their defense. and the whole time t...

Disconnect the battery and wait 10 mins before unplugging the seat looms, re-connect the looms on the new seats before re-connecting the battery.

Re: tdi sport juddering under load?? 240K covered.
Hi mate, I have a Skoda Fabia 1.9tdi PD 100bhp engine and this does the same, it has done 140K, no judder when pulling away but put your foot on the gas even lightly at 40mph in 5th and it judders unless you change down, as you say when the engine is under load with torque. it also seems to surge in...

Re: Newby with a couple of questions.....
it could be one of the bearings starting to go dry, also the alternator pulley has a one way clutch bearing inside it these are prone to failing it could be early signs of it going I am hoping it is the one way clutch as this would be a lot easier to take the alternator of and change and cheaper as...

Newby with a couple of questions.....
Hi guys, I have a 53 plate 1.9tdi 130 AVF engine, tiptronic, need some opinions on a squeeky serpentine belt (alternator belt) a slow chirpy squeek that doesnt speed up much with the engine speed, not the aircon belt, the tensioner jumps around a little. Took the belt off today and tried the alterna...

Re: advice for people thinking of running adaptor's ...
At least most of you guys look after and maintain your cars properly, didn't want to sound like an old F*** in my reply as I like a car modified when done properly, a poorly maintained car with no modifications can be even more dangerous than a poorly modified well maintained car but a poorly mainta...

Re: advice for people thinking of running adaptor's ...
Good advice there! I could never understand why people believe there are no safety issues with these adapters and happily rely on the adapter taking all the weight and strain of 2 tons at speed and under load, even if you don't have a family or kids in your car you may end up hitting a car with kids...

Good good. Yeah VW say it's sealed for life but why do they sell ATF, filter and a drain and fill plug?? Total rubbish mate. Get the proper Dexron oil in it along with a new filter. Should be looking at £100-£130. U could do it urself but it's a bit fiddly to do whilst ur on ur back whilst the ca...

Hello and pics of my B5.5
Hi Guys, thought I would introduce myself, had passats and various VAG cars for a while and just picked up my TDi 130 passat this week. 110K one owner, full service history, May be needing some advice along the way as I intend to do the cam belt before the end of the summer and have a squeeky aux be...
