Re: Low MPG and random smoking when stopped
I'll keep the pump in mind, it had a new one at around 100 - 120000 miles, as the original died on me on my commute to work. So this one has around 40 - 60000 on it

Low MPG and random smoking when stopped
2.0li diesel 160,000 miles. In recent weeks i've noticed that the readout on the dash for mpg has taken a near 10MPG drop from usually around 52/54MPG to about 42. The car doesn't appear to be running any different although i suppose the air con has been on a lot more than normal due to recent hot w...

Re: urgent help
Apparently they can hear it move by vcds , but when they push back on them, they dont go back far enough to get the pads on. they said they do them all the time but haven't ever had this happen. its an indi garage, but its not particularly a cheap one.

Using lots of oil
Hi guys, any idea what the issue might be here? I've been having to top my oil up a lot recently and it seems to have gotten much more frequent recently so i set the trip counter the last time. I managed to use around half a pint in 700 miles, which seems excessive, also the low oil level warning la...

Re: Passat B6 factory fitted extras list
these can be turned on in VCDS, my 2007 has them but i did do a can bus upgrade to upgrade the stereo. the only issue is for them to work you have to leave the (standard) headlight switch in the on position all the time. then after a few mins of locking the car your lights go off. I think the lights...

Brake Replacment Manchester
Im fairly certain im going to need a full set of break pads and disks on the passat. brakes have recently become very poor, especially if the abs kicks in, may as well not press them. Pedal feel is also really bad, rear disks look scored, so im thinking i've gone through the pads to the metal back :...

B6 DSG estate brakes
In the last few days my brakes have become a little spongy, on first press of the Pedal the pedal travels nearly all the way down then the second press things seem a bit better but this is every time I brake. I think the pads are in need of doing so I'm going to try to take a look as soon as I can. ...

Just came out to my passat after parking it up lastnight with no issues and it's turning over but it won't start. If I crank it long enough I get a red oil warning and beep. Any ideas what it could be?

Re: RNS315 DAB Antenna, FM reception quality
DAB reception is a different arial and a different socket to the fm reception so the FM reception stays the same. ive just fitted dab into my 07 passat and used an internal antenna. reception seems ok so far but i havent tested it too much
