Passats catching fire?

To me this seems too much of a coincidence for there not to be a flaw somewhere. I know four people who have had their B5.5 passats (all varied in age and millage)catch fire within the last 8months. All fitted with the 1.9tdi pd engines. All the fires seemed too similar as well, they all started fro...

LOL! got another one this morning so I replied... "Hello. Yes I still have the car but I'm not after money for it. I'm after sexual favours. I have some wild fantasies that need fulfilled and I'm sure you'll have fun with me and the toys. You might get sore driving the car home though so I'll t...

Word of warning...scammers

Just had some knob try and rip me off through paypal and said they saw my car for sale on here, which it is so I thought it was genuine to start with. I'll not go into detail but basically they tried to buy the car without seeing it and wanted to send me money to send to someone else for picking it ...

speaker upgrade?

Both my front door speakers are blown so I thought I may as well change all of them at the same time. I have two options though that I was thinking of. I have a B6. 1: Just upgrading all the door speakers at once. Can anyone recommend a good upgrade with a standard MFD2 headunit? 2: Just replacing t...

Re: Car audio help please!

Yeh that's what I'm aiming towards lol. Looking to eventually upgrade all door speakers and tweeters along with a small 10" sub hidden in the boot. Nothing too stupid or massive boxes and fancy lighting. Just something subtle to add to the sound but sounds bloody good lol. I am fitting some Phe...

Re: Car audio help please!

Yeh I was just going to make some adapters out of MDF or ask my mate nicely who has a 3D printer  I would love a new headunit but I would be after something like the rns510, which to be honest at the moment I can't afford so just after the cheaper option. I don't really want to get a normal...

Car audio help please!

Hey. Basically I am wanting to change the two main front door speakers in my B6 as one of them has blown. I want to upgrade the speakers but I did that before with a standard headunit and it sounded pish. If I buy upgraded speakers will it just be a case of running them through an amp and some sort ...

Re: Law on stretched tyres ?... Too young to have alloys ??

some peoples idea of stretch makes me giggle :hyst :hyst :hyst If you're referring to me I know mine is not a lot of stretch lol. I didn't want to go nuts with it as it was my daily till I got my B6 but it's still technically stretched :D A mate of mine has a mk1 caddy pick up, his stretch is just ...

Re: Do I have a leg to stand on?

The car is that packed the rear sounds all muffled and it just does my head in lol. I'm very picky with how my sound systems sound, has to be nice and clear. That's why I upgraded the speakers in my B6 for BOSE ones. Ordered some new ones to where I am visiting so I will have a job whilst on holiday.

Do I have a leg to stand on?

BAsically my B6 was in the garage all day yesterday for a full service and MOT. When I got it back the offside front speaker sounded as though it had sand in it and now it is completely sized up. Before it went to the garage it was 100% fine. Have I got a leg to stand on with no proof it actually ha...

Help please. brakes failed, on holiday.

Basically yesterday I did a 9hour drive and the car was fine. Today when I drove it my brakes have a problem with them. When you first put your foot on the brakes you can push the pedal to the floor, the car slows down but not enough for an emergency stop. The pedal firms up when it is pumped. There...

EGR help and cleaning.

I'm wanting to clean out my EGR and inlet manifold on my 2.0tdi pd 140 and I was wondering what's the best stuff to use for cleaning them? and also how would I go about cleaning the inside of the inlet manifold due to the bends? Also I was thinking of blanking it off at the same time to save work bu...

Re: My experience with a blacksmoke remap

I'm guessing the reason they are so cheap is that they don't need to employ people to install the map for you? Along with all the extra equipment, cables, vans (if mobile service), etc. wish I'd known about these people before I went and forked out on a REVO remap. I've used Revo on all my VAG cars ...

Re: Boot rust issue VW aware!!

Seems like VWUK have set their stall out on this one. Just had a phonecall from the customer service department and they won't move on the 75% good will gesture. They've said that it's not covered under the warranty as that only covers perferation from the inside-out and as its corrosion from an ed...

Re: Boot rust issue VW aware!!

This 75% business is a load of bull, sounds like they are getting tight with everyone getting it done for nothing. I recently got my tailgate done completely free. They even had to order a new tailgate with the updated light/switch unit which is now plastic instead of the screws which caused the pro...

Re: wont go above 3000 rpm?????

Yeh sounds about right for something stupid like that to happen. Luckily it's not bad then :D My old b5.5 went into limp mode because a vacuum pipe popped off. I never noticed as it was behind the engine so spent a fortune at the stealers for them to tell me something stupid. Cars nowadays are ridic...
