So rosstech got back to me and said Bosch basically don't make suitable battery's for vw's with stop start but Bosch argued otherwise anyway it's coded as a varta battery with the first 10 digits of the battery's barcode all of the stop start functions are working again so I'm happy it's correct if ...

They 100% do need coding in if you have vcds there is a battery control module you need to tell what battery you have so the charging system works correctly mine wasn't set right so it killed last one as thecoding that was in there was wayyyyyy wrong

Also cleaned the connectors for the lights that attach to the chassis leg with electonics cleaning solvent spray and cleaned the earth that bolts on there with wire wool for good measure

and one more hope these help once repaired and taped up fault codes checked all was ok

so basically the damage was to the loom just as the loom goes round the battery tray it had rubbed through and was shorting against chassis leg

I fixed the issue in the end turned out to be the engine bay wiring loom had damaged wires soldered them up taped up and put back where it should be all back working now

No I'll do this tomorrow has anyone got a wiring diagram as I can't find one anywhere online
