Re: Dealer cambelt change 1 week ago and failed
Im surprised that only the rocker is damaged, without any damage to valves or the cam shafts. I think you need to closely monitor this and maybe inform VWCS, future problems like noise, performance issues, lumpy acceleration, further damage to the engine block can all be symptoms of this kind of in...

Well guys the car has been back on the road for over a month and no problems as yet. Has had two oil and filter changes since then. Still going good. Bloody stupid design though I have to admit.

Checked it today. No oil at turbo and none coming out when we removed the oil pressure switch. Thanks for pointing in the right direction.

Re: Turbo seized
No point in getting a new turbo on a blb until the oil pump drive has been addressed which maybe the route cause of the turbo failure. A blb is double trouble as it has both the troubled 77 mm hex drive and a chain tensioner that likes breaking. The bare minimum is a replacement more reliable tenti...

Since having my car inspected on Easter Monday I had a phone call today stating that they are going to replace the tailgate under warranty but not the corrosion on the roof just above the rear door rubbers. I asked why not and the answer was: doors are miss-aligned ? What a load of poo. When the ca...

Sorry I forgot to reply with regards to the Sat Nav problem. It turned out to be the shark fin antenna on the roof, water had got inside it and caused corrosion within. Fixed now

Starting problems
Hi Guys, The last couple of mornings the car started but sounded a little lumpy for a second or two then OK. This morning started and cut out. Could not hear the pump in the tank running. Checked and no live feed to the pump ( blue/red wire). Gave it a live feed via a wire and started no problem. An...
