Re: Leaving the fold with a heavy heart
They do go through quite a few bulbs as my work colleague has a 2013 Pro C'eed and my daughter has a 67 plate C'eed Tdi Estate as a Company car. My daughter also had a hired Ford Focus Estate while she was waiting for the C'eed to be delivered and said that the Ford was streets ahead of the C'eed f...

Re: Leaving the fold with a heavy heart
Heated steering wheel is defo NO1 feature I am missing. It makes such a big difference in cold weather, while I barely touch heated seats. I hope the little KIA serves you well. The parts are mighty expensive unless you ship everything straight from Korea. Didn't know that. I'm thinking the 6 years...

Re: Leaving the fold with a heavy heart
Have a blast , alot going for the Korean experience these days with their generous warranties . Cheers, not just the warranty these days gaz. The driving experience is the best I've had and I've had all the premium brands over the years. Kia offer a 7 year waŕranty for a reason, I just wish everyon...

Leaving the fold with a heavy heart
Well chaps, new mot rules regarding dpf in May have forced my hand. The B6 is no longer mine. It was due a cam belt and it had the 77mm key in the oil pump so I decided to make a clean break. Drove all the way up to Lincolnshire to part ex her for an ex demo Kia ceed gt. I wouldn't even have conside...

Re: New MOT rules regarding dpf (May 2018)
I changed work locations last May reducing my daily commute from 70 miles a day to 28 on slower roads. The car was passively regenerating the soot into ash before but now does an active regeneration which visibly drops the mpg over 5 minutes or so and sticks a smoke screen out the back (bit of oil ...

Re: New MOT rules regarding dpf (May 2018)
0.75 is new smoke opacity mean value . However the draft says also about the manufacturers value on the 'VIN diesel' plate like 0.50 in alot of VAG cases , so look at your VIN ! An egr and dpf delete Stage 1 on any dpf equipped derv gives a fantastic result and always a genuine mpg gain . There's p...

Re: New MOT rules regarding dpf (May 2018)
My replacement DPF (a refurbished unit from Poland but good nevertheless) after the original became full was around £300. Still too much? Been on the car now for 60k and around half full (Carbon Mass Index aka retained ash content). Still have the original which I might have cleaned / refurbished f...

Re: New MOT rules regarding dpf (May 2018)
Just pop down to a friendly MOT centre and ask them if they can measure your soot output. If it falls within the new limits, you'll be fine. If not, then i'm afraid a new DPF, and a remap to include its parameters will be needed. It's impractical getting a new dpf. It would cost more than the car's...

New MOT rules regarding dpf (May 2018)
Just been reading that there are new rules for testing diesel cars in the new mot test from May 2018. Looks like people like myself that have had their dpf removed will have trouble passing the next one. I had mine removed in 2012 because I only do short journeys and never do more than 4000 miles a ...

If its a p2015 code it's usually the little pully either come lose from the ball joint or it's going too far back. There are easy fixes for both. Mine just threw that code up this month and all I did was reconnect it using a flat screwdriver. Plenty of info online if you just put "p2015 vw fix&...

Re: New head unit?
I went the android head unit route a couple of years ago. Was indeed a Xmas prezzie for myself :D , I love it. Takes around thirty seconds to boot but I would imagine the new ones boot quicker. Once you use your phone as a wifi hotspot the unit will come to life even more with your own sat nav app, ...

The heating wiring is only 2 thin spades. One blue one red. Had to take my mirrors off in the summer and reglue them due to wobbling.
I'd give anything to get my hands on the little b@stards who did that btw. I'd torture the little t*@ts.

Mine was due its third last year because of the time interval, even though its only done 20,000 miles from the last change in 2012.
Just havent had a spare 400 quid to throw at it tbh. 163,000m on the clock.

I change my filter every 12 months anyway but the thing i learned many years ago with air con is never turn it off. Even if you do for a few weeks it'll pong like a sweaty sock when you put it back on again.

Re: Loud bang then this fell off rear end
Springs are made out of cheaper metal these days, that and all the speed bumps mean they don't last. I had two front springs go one after the other so got them replaced in Halfords. Fronts are a lot harder to replace than the rears. Including alignment i paid £290 ish. I just wish i got the shocks ...

Re: Loud bang then this fell off rear end
Mine snapped a couple of months ago. Went with Sachs (which are the OE ones anyway - identical) at £45 each from ECP. Changed in 30 minutes. Just got it back from local indi. £240 all in for 2 sachs fitted springs. I would have had a go myself but my dads got my spare jack and he's away. (The truth...

It is rear coil. Just got a piece of it out. Rear passenger side. That rubber thing is what the coils rest on. Does anyone think it'll be ok to tentatively drive to the nearest vw indi garage tomorrow? 3 miles away tops. Also are those anshler rear coils from ecp any good? They are 25 quid each chea...

Loud bang then this fell off rear end
Just drove over a very mild speed bump at around 5mph and heard an almighty bang in the back and this rubber thing fell off in road. http://rs76.pbsrc.com/albums/j34/liverpoolee/20170501_092806_zpsuvs0cqwt.jpg?w=480&h=480&fit=clip I'm guessing the rear end suspension has snapped. Maybe the s...
