Re: Cheap upgrades for more mpg
I'm interested to know why people do this pulse and glide technique. Seems utterly ridiculous to turn your engine off constantly and vary your speed so much in cycles. If you were in front of me and I couldn't get past I would be going nuts.

Re: P2015 dieselgeek bracket
Thank you, mclean. I did notice. I saw that your mechanic pulled the inlet manifold to install the repair bracket which is the only way I thought it could be done on the black plastic manifold. There is another way though. We've been sending out wrench kits to our customers overseas that want to ...

Re: P2015 dieselgeek bracket
Hello, this is Jim from Dieselgeek here in the States. I just want to state for the record that I developed this part and we are the sole seller of the "genuine" part. Any other claim is not true. Buying from copycats just rewards the copycats. They cannot even seem to write their own copy for ...

Re: VW Group Litigation
Keeping a keen eye on things but taken no action as yet. Not happy to hear that the fix has caused issues with some cars and certainly not taking the car into the main dealer for them to mess with my software. I'm annoyed that there is no explanation about what exactly they want to change.

Re: P2015 dieselgeek bracket
My light came on the other week, scanned it and had the same fault, but been clear since. I've seen the fix also done by drilling and tapping a hole, and using a long bolt through it.

I dont recall if I had the same exact code as you but it did state p2015 (I used cheap Bluetooth dongle and torque app).

Re: P2015 dieselgeek bracket
The engine cover pops off easily and you can see yourself. I was able to identify the manifold using the video on dieselgeek (I've never had the engine cover off). UK are mostly plastic manifold. Aluminium manifold fix can be fitted in 10 mins without removing it but like I said, 3hrs labour if it's ...

Re: P2015 dieselgeek bracket
Got the p2105 fault and intermittent emissions warning light. Light ended up staying on after a while. Months later put it into indy. He very simply placed a screwdriver under the motor arm to bring the motor arm back into correct range and rescanned with vcds. No fault recorded.

Re: VCDS for the B6
All depends what you want to do with the VCDS lead. If you just want to read and clear fault codes on modules something like the carista app on an android phone with a bluetooth dongle for £5 off Fleabay is pretty good.

Just had mine changed for the second time for £279.74 including VAT in comparison it makes mine look very reasonable but that's what you get by not using VW garages. :esm :esm by the way mine has done 186,903 and getting 47 mpg however my wife gets 55/60 mpg not such a heavy right foot!!! Re: "shock absorber from hell"
Are they genuine vw parts? Are you fitting them yourself? If you are getting them directly from vw I don't see how they can be the wrong ones.
My mechanic says that 70-75k is reasonable for original shocks so clearly so getting is amiss.

Give it a course of Shell V Power, like about 900L -- cost you more per gall but that'll shift any intermittent grot in the fuel rail. About the same as two bottles of Forte if you use all the Club Card discounts
What are you running it on now? Hope not supermarket soup?

For the big 1500 mile run I filled the tank with esso's premium diesel. From there it's been a mixture of asda and tesco regular diesel. There is a shell on the way to work so I'll give it some of the good stuff as a treat

Re: Passat 2.0tdi - increased power and mpg
Well it's back to normal and even had a little bit of tough idle yesterday (think that's what it is called, the car vibrates slightly and feels like it is moving). Mpg city driving on an 8 mile trip was 47 mpg two nights ago bit now back to regular 35 - 40 depending on how I drive.

Passat 2.0tdi - increased power and mpg
Hey board,
Per title, last night my 2.0 tdi cr 2000, 75k miles appeared to have a very noticeable increase in both power and mpg (per trip computer).
How is this even possible?

Re: Air conditioning not working?

Re: Worst car Ive ever had
Four years, 60,000 miles and only non consumable is steering column fault which happened a few weeks outside warranty and was covered by manufacturer and stealer. I have an issue with air con compressor just now but I have to say that this has been my best car by miles and the first one I have ...
