Re: CV joints off and lost drive...
I hope you're right.
Yes I heard good things about the j and r stuff so when I found these Amazon ones didn't fit I ordered cv's from j and r . Sounds like I could be ordering a full unit now.
Weird how they didn't fail prior to removing them.

CV joints off and lost drive...
To cut a long story short i've been getting myself to replace the CV's on my 2003 1.8t . So after stripping down the shaft etc i realise that the CV's i'd bought from Amazon aren't the right size. Basically bought ones for the Auto. So i put it all back together so the car can be used this week. Onl...

AWT Coolant flange o ring part numbers ?
About to tackle the coolant flange on my 1.8t awt . I have the flange with built in seal and the coolant temp sensor seal and clip all from the dealers. Now question is , I thought there would be a seal to replace in the hose that goes to the heater core, but my parts dealer chap is saying there isn...

Re: Right battery for 1.8t awt ?
Cheers pal. Link was supposed to take you too the 079 one. Which was only 207 mm in length, similar to the current Bosch battery fitted. Thought I'd seen someone somewhere mention correct one is 027 which is longer like the one you put a link up to. Thanks for that good price too.

Proper dumped on its bum with matt paint ?
He'd have been at the Bugnutz meet at Ainsworth arms.

Re: help to remove lower arms
The bottoms are definately easier than the tops imo. I just slid the bolts out as far as they would come then cut the heads off the bolts on the rear arms, then refit the bolt the opposite way around when you reassemble it. Be careful when cutting though because the fuel and brake lines are very clo...

Re: top control arms are squeaking
I think I have similiar issues to yours.
I can't make my mind up whether its the struts themselves making the noise or the new arms I've put on .
Seems to start of noisy when you first set off then progressively get quieter till it almost goes.

Re: Suspension arm kits 16mm or 20mm ?
I've whacked some spacers in there and I'll keep a check on it. Strangly the bolt that holds the strut bottom is alot nicer fit than the original vw part.
If they last 12 months I'll be happy till the funds allow for a decent kit.

Re: Suspension arm kits 16mm or 20mm ?
Right just trying to sort all this out with seller still. But whilst waiting I've measured the other arm discovered that the rear lower arm in the kit is infact a 16mm one. This kit is advertised for Skoda Superb but fits Passat. Aren't both the lower arms supposed to be either 16mm or 20mm ? Not a...

Re: HIDS Specific Passat b5.5 fitment or any H7 kit ?
I'll be going for either 4300k or 6000k . My query about fitment was more about whether the ones in the link would simply plug into existing wiring in the car, don't want to be cutting the wiring plugs etc I'd rather go for the ones in the link as they have the metal base and ceramic insulator bit w...
