Could you tell me - is it normal for this model to have a 16" steel spare or should it come with a 17" alloy spare? Dunno if I was being fobbed off or if this is genuinely the case.

Thanks for all your replies. Tonight I walked away from the car. A mixture of being too dear and the noise I was hearing was definitely a wheel bearing. It was a whirr with a slight machine gunning sound. I think the dealer was looking a bit too much for it to begin with and also wasn't really prepa...

I also did the "grabbing at air" thing after the test drive earlier. It would be great if indeed that were the only issue with the EPB.
