for your information rustybus the b5.5 i have had both the steering wheel in and bucket seats in when it went for its mot. the airbags were bypassed with resistors the steering wheel and bucket seats were not questioned on the mot... and im sorry to everyone that dont like the silver race stearing w...

got the passat today its a AFN engine 110 bhp 1.9 tdi se performance wise better than my 2001 pd 130 bhp passat i have a rattle on it when clutch pressed goes off when not pressed so gonna get a bearing put in engine runs sweet antifreeze is bright pink for a 1998 passat b5 its been well looked afte...

plusgas all the way and shocking the bolt with a hammer also moving it wit a ratchet a bit at a time worked for me on 12yr old suspension
take your time plenty of plusgas and bolt shocking and it will come loose

all vac pipes renewed
wastegate actuator working
took the pipe off the turbo and out came a bit of oil checked for play and theres around 1/4 inch of play in it
intercooler pipes leak oil badly
engine is breathing heavy

why touch the plastic link pipes if there in good condition.
and the factory vac pipes had nothing securing them.
ive replaced all mine with silicone has shown with no problems what so ever.

yes its just that over time the original rubber hoses get brittle or perished and go bigger bore thus leaking or falling off

all small vac pipes replaced with 2mtrs yes
for the simple reason in some places there are t peices or lenghs of solid plastic pipes in between the hoses.

its well worth doing mine kept loosing boost last week so i thought stuff it ill buy new vac pipes after a tempory fix sorted it i got red pipe ok you dont see some of it but it shows its been changed and being silicone it wont rot and its a lovely snug fit too buy the 3mm internal diamiter pipe and...

just changed all small vac pipes on my 130 + 35bhp pd tdi passat
smoother boost quieter idle and a little faster.
few more weeks and ill order my egr delete kit.
