To pass the NCT (Irish MOT) I can either go back to the stock pair of candles or fit all this extra stuff and keep the xenons.

Re: Fitting OEM Xenons to a B5.5
Firstly my apologies for digging up an old thread. I have OEM xenons on my B5.5, and I want to fit the headlight washer system and self levelling. Of course the cost will be more than the value of the car at this stage but what's new eh? From another site the shopping list is as follows: Part number...

Warm up issues AVF
Good evening folks, I'm looking for a little bit of diagnostic help please. My car is a 2003 AVF 4MO Saloon standard car. In the recent past I've had a new radiator installed, replaced the coolant pipe on the passenger side of the head and replaced the coolant outlet at the back of the head due to l...

Re: Fade to Black
It's difficult to know exactly but I've absolutely no service history with it so the truth probably lies in a combination of all of the above. Very happy to have her running sweet again.
The mechanic who changed it for me says he's changed loads of them over the years.

She was starting to complain from the inside out. I think I was approaching catastrophic failure by the time I got to investigate. :ymsigh: http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt221/s_miller79/WP_20170221_16_39_46_Pro_zps9ani8jkl.jpg http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt221/s_miller79/WP_20170221_16_...

Re: New 6 speed gearknob & gaiter
Fair point. Funny I'd read the following description on several of their Passat parts and thought it was covered. Strangely it's missing from the part above. That said, an email might clarify for someone who is interested. Special Note: The vast majority of VW's have a 12mm shaft that the shift knob...

4MOTION 6 Speed Gear Knob Top Emblem
Hello,
Does anybody know if this cap will fit the b5.5 4MOTION Gear Knob? Mine is gone very tired looking.
If this one is not suitable does anybody have a part number / link to a suitable part. Needs to be a 6 speed.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like a good old fashioned boost leak. Check all of the hoses between the airbox and the inlet manifold for cracks or leaks.

Re: Limited Slip Rear Diff 4motion
Did you fit a front LSD?
The common source for the torsen rear is to get the rear diff from a 1990's Audi V8 and swap the internals out.

Get a super B estate, ye'll all be able to move into it and won't need a house.
Car is a depreciating asset. House hopefully appreciate over a long enough time scale.
