Re: P2015 dieselgeek bracket

Hi Jim, you're correct, they even use links to your videos, it makes it look like they are your distributors in this and other countries. I've not ordered anything yet cause I'm going to have a proper look at it next weekend. Maybe you could get in touch with the forum admins to set up a distributio...

Re: P2015 dieselgeek bracket

A slightly positive note, it's got the aluminum manifold.
I'll get one ordered and report back on it when I have fitted it.
Thanks for the advice and comments.

Re: P2015 dieselgeek bracket

Many thanks for that, I'd almost made up my mind and you have helped convince me.
Just need to check which manifold I have.
There are some on eBay posted from the UK so I might look at one of those, they say they are'genuine'.

P2015 dieselgeek bracket

Hi, Has anyone any experience of the dieselgeek bracket? Is it a quick delivery and does it work? Is there any visual checks that I could do to diagnose the problem? Bleeding car has just come up with the P2015  07E8 Intake manifold runner position sensor switch circuit range performance bank 1a err...

Re: Passat CC boot latch problem

The wiring harness in the boot is a common problem. Mine was faulty and it gave light faults. £38 for the loom and VW want two hours labour to replace it! Not a difficult task and I did it myself in under an hour and that was being cautious cause I didn't know how to do it. The hydraulic strut that...

Re: Electrical VCDS Guru required!

Well, begger me! I decided to go to the dealership and let them diagnose the problem. Turns out my initial instinct was right, it is the boot lid wiring loom. The diagnosis was £51 inc vat and the part was £38 inc vat with two hours labour quoted at £204!! They will knock off the price of the dia...

Ha, like so many of you, my 08 was clear according to the vw link but I got the letter in the post this week saying it is affected and they will be in touch to rectify the problem soon.

Re: Electrical VCDS Guru required!

Thanks for your replies, I've had the car for 4 years and it's not had a towbar, always serviced by vw, I've never changed any coding and the fault has never appeared before. My neighbor has vcds and has run a scan and cleared the error about the module but it came back straight away. The only thing...

Re: Electrical VCDS Guru required!

I don't suppose anyone has the breakdown of which colour connector block is for which light etc. in the left hand rear wheel well for the boot wiring loom? It would make identifying which cable is the potentially faulty one. All the cables are brown so its not that easy to trace. The connector block...

Re: Electrical VCDS Guru required!

Thanks but it's never been changed in all the time I've had the car.
I'm going to have a look at the wiring harness in the boot area as there are reports of this failing due to stress fractures in the cables around the area as it leaves the boot lid.

Re: Electrical VCDS Guru required!

Hi Karl,
I've ordered the one you suggested.
I've also tried sending you a pm but not too sure if it's gone.
Hopefully it will be able to fix it.
I'm looking for a simple guide to download and upload the current module settings without killing the car. Anyone got one?
Cheers

Re: Electrical VCDS Guru required!

Obviously I won't hold you to it but In your opinion is it likely to be the module rather than a broken cable? I was a little surprised by the voltage at the working neighboring bulb being so low, do you think that could that be indicative of a failing module? I've never been a fan of electrics and ...

Re: Electrical VCDS Guru required!

Oh well, that didn't go too good.
Cleaned all the contacts etc. But no change.
No voltage at the offending holder, the other holder that works has 2.4v
Anyone know if that is right?
Not too sure what to do next.
Looks like I may have to go to the dealers unless anyone has any other idea?

Re: Electrical VCDS Guru required!

Thanks Karl, I can't see any obvious corrosion on the contacts, just about to buy some contact cleaner. I am going to try to check the power is getting to the board and your diagram will help identifying the correct supply line. Thanks, I'll post my findings. worst case scenario, is it a dealer only...

Electrical VCDS Guru required!

OK, 2008 Passat CC, located Warrington Cheshire. Right hand rear sidelight not working on the outer bulb of the inner light cluster. Changed the bulb thinking this would be easy but it still doesn't light up and the error still comes up on the MFD! Checked the bulb off the car by supplying power to ...

Re: Advice needed re- Rear Shocks.

I wish mine only cost £85, try £280 just cause they're electronic.
Easy enough to fit but boy, steel bolts in aluminium housings are not the best idea, nearly gave myself a hernia undoing the bottom mount, ended up having to take the springs out to get better access and purchase on the bolt.

Re: Started but died...

Weird, mine did this a few days ago. Trying to restart it and it sounded like it was 'wheezing' for want of a better description. Went inside to get the laptop to connect it to it and gave it a try and it started as normal! The error code it recorded was something about convenience and the angle! Cl...

Rear adaptive shock absorber leaking

I apparently have a misting on one of the rear shock absorbers and I can't find any idea of level of difficulty for fitting or price online for a replacement unit.
Has anyone here any experience of this and idea of cost?

That was fun! Passed the car to a local mechanic to fit the new caliper and at the end of the week  he told me he couldnt do it as his reader wouldnt release or apply the handbrake. I should have taken the advice on here as I have now replaced the caliper and used the vcds as per the instructions a...

Re: Another EPB issue with VCDS codes

Buying a new motor/caliper and was wondering if there is anyone local to Warrington that could 'supervise/oversee' the vcds side of this for me? A bit of a chicken where 'new fangled' technology is concerned, rebuilt motors etc in the past but this new tech is just that.
