VAGCOM/VCDS
I keep hearing about people using VCDS or VAGCOM to find stored faults and codes. I have a few questions and I am just wondering if I got this right and since a search brings up 100's of incidences; If I purchase just the connector/USB I can then download the software to my PC (at a cost) and then u...

Re: climatronic error
Don't know about the error code. But if set to cold it is only blowing at air temp it likely needs gassing, I suspect since you ask it has never been in for gassing. Drop it into ....... well pretty much anywhere these days and they will check and re gas if needed. maybe advise on servicing if it th...

Re: Owners manual
No mate,
I want an actual paper book in a wallet I can hold..Call me old school
Mine only has the service schedule with it, seen em on flea bay but wasn't sure about the saloon/estate thing, from what I can see the ones with the Gamma radio and CD changer are saloon.

Owners manual
I have my eyes on an owners manual for my 5.5 estate, mine is only part complete. But some are posted as saloon manual.
Is there a separate saloon and estate manual? or is it a generic one covering both?

Breakdown/Recovery cover
I have been without breakdown cover since the AA went ott with price last year, I never got round to renewing. but it is one of those things you never use until you don't have it...
Who does everyone else use?
Mainly just want breakdown and recovery to home.

Gary's B5.5 Sport (petrol)
Well I have been working up to putting some pics of my wagon up, since it is pretty standard still I felt it was a waste to put it up, anyway this year is the year I plan to get things changed. (not too much). I inherited it from my father in law, and it replaces a shabby looking V plate passat S TD...

They can't have a key, surely they would have driven it off by now?
Or is there some sort of ignition transponder too?

Has anyone got or seen any road Americas that have been coated silver/Chrome? (pic if poss)
I am thinking of getting mine done with maybe a colour match insert, but not sure how they might look all shiny.

Re: someone keeps unlocking my car
Is it on your drive? Maybe get a stand alone alarm system on a separate fob to the one you use for the car, or a cheaper option one that uses a pin and just sits on the dash. It wont stop them getting in but might deter or allow you to catch them. Failing that Mr Bean is a guru for car security.. ht...

A drop ofPetrol with diesel fill up?
Does anyone ever put a litre or so of regular petrol in with their diesel fill up?
I once did it by accident in a works car but was told not to worry as it is pretty much standard practice for taxi drivers and such, especially in winter.

Re: Exhaust fumes inside car?
I thought of that maybe, I'm off out to mess with it again, maybe let some smoke blow over it see if it draws/blows at all. and exactly where it connects.
