Re: Engine fan and hot exhaust
I sounds like your DPF has been doings it's regeneration thing. It gets very hot when it burns off the soot particles that it has collected. Are you doing enough long, steady speed journeys for the regeneration process to perform naturally? Thanks for your response. In fact I've only really been do...

Engine fan and hot exhaust
Hi I have a 12 plate Tdi with 1800 miles on the clock. A couple of times recently I have returned from a drive of around 15 miles to discover the following when switching off: a) Engine coolant fan runs for several minutes b) Exhaust tailpipe smells very hot - the bumper immediately above it is also...

Re: Rattles....
Took delivery of my Passat on 1 March. Today I was driving over a rough road surface and heard a rattle similar to blueboy's description. I was in the car alone so couldn't get anyone to investigate further. However, on the way home, I fastened the passenger side seatbelt to see if that made a diffe...

Problem fitting front mud flaps
Hi Just taken delivery of my new Passat Estate and so far very impressed. I've purchased a set of mud flaps (front & back) and this afternoon read through the fitting instructions. I foresee a big problem fitting the front ones (VW part No. 3C0 075 111). I wonder if anyone has fitted these succe...

Re: Fitting an external sat nav to a B7
If I remeber correctly all I needed was some torque drivers to remove things, if it was not just clipped on. Just what did you have to remove (apart from the fuse box cover)? I don't especially want to be removing significant bits of trim/dash on a brand new car (...and finish up with unnecessary r...

Guys
Many thanks for your replies. It's good to know that as well as a fine looking car there is a forum such as this available to me.
Cheers

Fitting an external sat nav to a B7
Hi Just joined this forum since I'm 90% certain I will choose a B7 estate (Tdi 140 SE) as my next new car. I don't really want to lash out on the extra to have an integral sat nav from VW. However, were I to fit an external device (Garmin 1490T I thought) I am wondering if there is a suitable 12v so...
