Re: 1.9 tdi B6 Glow plugs and EGR problem!!
Hi there. As for the glow plugs - best ONLY use the original spec NGK ones. Even though the others such as Bosch as correct spec (for the engine), their current draw may be slightly higher than NGK. This doesnt affect the engine but this could be long-term bad news for the wiring loom which was spec...

Re: Fault Codes: ABS Controller fixed!
Okay gents and ladies. After several months of still using the B6 (cant take that away from the B6. It is a PITA, but it keeps on running!), I managed to get the ABS fault tracked down, confirmed and repaired. In the end, I got a used ABS pump from BBA Reman (used but lifetime guaranteed unit) for m...

Another good job Jarek!
That heated windscreen is great. Once you got it, you cant go back.
My wife has Galaxy 1.9tdi and it is brilliant for frosty mornings like today.

Re: Fault Codes: Cam Pos Sensor and ABS Controller
The G201 sensor is in the pump part of the ABS unit, the ECU is just the contacts into the actual sensor when we fit the repair kit to the golfs, the ECU remains and we replace the pump part hope this helps Chris Thanks for clarifying. If you are free sometime, would you be up for me to bring the c...

Re: Fault Codes: Cam Pos Sensor and ABS Controller
Was this problem resolved, I have the exact same problem. cheers Mate To cut a long story...i sent the ABS ecu off to be tested and it was found to be fine. After checking the main ECU and other things, my next step is to remove the whole ABS pump and get that checked. Despite live readings saying ...

Re: Hate to do this - PROBLEMS
Hi As you know the CR engine is problematic check the full list of remedial work done to your car. Then you will see which common faults have been tended to and of course, which ones have not. Start from there if i were you. Best of luck. Try not to drive your car in the meantime. It could be a smal...

Ant, I have the BKC. Martin 1810 is a wealth of resource. Basically he is helping me to narrow down from: 1. Dirty ABS sensors on each hub. 2. Faulty ABS pump - google this and OMG. 3. Wiring issue: I also have the cambelt sensor. Car drives fine! Just not ESP! Will let you know how I get on. thanks...

Re: about glow plugs
You need to check the exact original glow plug. I have the 1.9tdi and chged the NGKs to Bosch. On Martin 1810's advice, I chg back to original spec NGK. These are the VW ones ie from the factory. The problem is not so much the glow plug for the engine but the load it places on your loom. It seems th...

Re: ABS ECU Communication Problems CAN BUS?
Hi, I have similar issue with my B6. I pulled the ABS ECU module out and have just sent it off for repair. I did it this way *with help from Martin 1810. 1. Do a live scan of your VCDS. Confirm there is nothing untowards mechanically with your car. 2. Clean ABS sensors on each hub: as mucky sensors ...

For camshaft, i got the hardened version from Germany. Nochturtecknik or similar spelling. See my build thread for pics. I paid £350ish delivered and it is fabulous. I have now done 5k and it is miles better than original VW camshaft on my BKC engine. This or Darkside - you wont go wrong. Best of l...
