EPB, cheap fix ??

Turned out my o/s epb was shot, unwilling to pay vw prices, i ordered one from gsf for £170 only to be told they had none in stock and they were on back order. Someone on here sent me a link to a site where this guy repairs them, so i bit the bullet and ordered the new bearings and after a bit of f...

Re: Turn off parking brake warning light??!!

Mine does the same and it turned out to be the o/s motor seized, easy way to tell is jack up the back end, apply the epb, chances are one side will be braked the other will still spin, check your feeds to the plug, i stuck a wire in one terminal and another wire in the other terminal (this is on the...

bubble has burst... help..!!

Dreaded epb has give up on the o/s, tried new (genuine) switch, to no avail, tested both plugs at the motor end and i have feed to both. The brake still works off the foot pedal, so i reckon the motor has gone. £170 from GSF, Question is will the new one need coding, vcds or whatever, and if so cou...

Re: Passat B6 - Armrest

3C0 864 211B 17U is the part number for the lid only, not sure if it includes the mechanism though. One on ebay (new) went for £50, but will probably be more from the stealers. I would strip it and see whats wrong and maybe fix it, but im like that lol, costs nothing to look... :-??

Re: Passat B6 - Armrest

sounds like the ratchet is worn, never heard of one wearing assuming nothing is broken, you may be able to just get the mechanisim separate from main dealer or TPS, as for second hand, dont think you will find one tbh.

Re: handbrake

Interesting this, mine works as it should and i dont have auto hold being an "S" model. Drive on the level or slightly up hill then stop. Obviously i have to press the epb, set off as normal without touching anything and it releases as it should.... however if you are facing even slightly ...

Think g-black has done this, also your biggest problem is making it fit width wise as i believe the R36 bumper is wider cos of the flared arches seem to remember reading something like this ant.

Re: Best way to hard wire a tom tom??

Ive done basically as above ^^^ i bought another cig lighter socket and wired it in tandem to the oem one but hid it behind the console, fed the wire behind the dash to the o/s fuse box and made a small notch in the fuse box panel edge so it comes out by the A pillar. Ok it still is stuck on the gla...

mine is the "s" model so I have the dark trim, which I quite like, not keen on the silver at all, however time has come for an upgrade so I think im gonna have a go at wrapping it in the satin black carbon look, would like gloss piano black but if I made any mistakes I think it would show ...

Re: oem twin chrome tailpipes

I use quite fine emery cloth which is on a roll and only about an inch wide to clean mine up. Tear off a strip about a foot long and loop it over the top of one at a time and they clean up nicely, not dull but not highly polished either, suits you sir...!!! :D
