Try to compeer them to standard headlights on B6 and you will see the difference. I retrofitted xenons to mine and the difference is a day and night. Oh dear that was ages ago and I can't quite remember how it was done.

I would guess there will be 4 catches on the sides (2 on each side) that need to be pressed with screwdriver or flat knife.

If you have dcc shocks I would say you will need to change them as well.
I'm pretty sure they won't work correctly with shorter springs.

2008 should have gateway E or later but best bet is to confirm via vcds or by removing.
