How can I tell if a B6's parking sensors are factory fitted? From what I've read they activate when you select reverse, is there an on/off switch on the dash?

I thought that it was now law to have 12 months warranty on a vehicle, read it on the Honest John column a while ago but it might be worth checking something to do with the European Law. Sure. Just trying to limit the risk. Will of course purchase my own HPI check and I plan to get the car fully serviced at a specialist German/VW garage who should be able to tell if there's anything nasty on the horizon.
