Thanks for that. Makes sense. I accidentally put 4 litres of unleaded in the car a week ago. It was on empty so I filled it up to the brim with Diesel. It does seem to do less mileage. Heard they mix a little unleaded type juice with diesel to make the winter fuel.

Would the alternator pulley cause a leak? I cant see how.
the noise is definitely from the power steering. It was bone dry upon checking yesterday. As soon as it was topped up it was fine. Checked again this morning still toped up and no problem on start up.
I jhust have no idea where the leak ...

It did it when the car was moving and my foot wa son the accelerator. At the same time as the engine rev.
I really couldnt say if it was the turbo. the turbo sounds as it should before and after this happened. No whistling. i owned an Audi S4 and had a turbo blow so know what a bad turbo sounds ...

I drive in city , East London, mostly start stop journeys that are 10 to 15 mins long at most. Lots of cares on the road. If I fill up £20 I would get 85 to 100 Miles.
