Re: About to order
Well, looks like it's to be the GT 150PS DSG wagon in Deep Black Pearl. It'll be a couple of weeks before I get it but I can't wait!! I'm a bit worried about losing the power of the 530D but a brand new fully expensed Passat is definitely outweighing the expense of running my own 11 year old barge f...

Re: About to order
Thanks John. So what's the GTE version then? The 190ps version must be pretty quick. My current wagon (E61 530D) is 225ps or something but it weighs about the same as a small village.

Re: About to order
Yeah, those premium LED lights look awesome!! I'm not sure I'll stretch to getting them as they're quite expensive from memory. Never really thought about DCC, what does it actually do?

About to order
Hi chaps. I used to own a B5.5 and always loved it. I jumped ship a coupe of years ago and bought a 530D to run into the ground and that I have certainly done. It's time to go for a company car now and I really want another Passat. I'm looking at the GT wagon with the 2.0 150ps (or higher) engine. C...

I love this colour combination. It looks really prestige. I might actually follow suit when I order my wagon in a couple of months....

Re: Charge Air Pressure for 1.9TDI AVB
The vac lines have largely been replaced. Just the few down by the actuator funnily enough. So ill do them asap. Definately going to remove the turbo hoses to inspect fully, should that be required. Actuator testing is nice and easy, we like that!
Thanks for the pointers so far.

Re: Charge Air Pressure for 1.9TDI AVB
Hi mini_dub, the shareware version on VCDS isnt showing any codes. Ive been through all the measuring blocks I can and everything seems to checkout. It does sound like it tries to boost at around 1500rpm, then throttles up on stages till about 3000 then sees to rev up alot smoother. At times it does...

Re: Charge Air Pressure for 1.9TDI AVB
Thanks for that adam. That was what I was actually meant to ask 'should i expect to see such a difference because its in neutral'. Such a nobhead! that does however lead me to another dead end. Know of any decent specialist in the kent area who are mobile? As mine has barely enough power to p...

Charge Air Pressure for 1.9TDI AVB
Anyone know, off hand, what the charge air pressure should be for the above?
Flooring it in neutral to about 4k gives around 1200mbar. VCDS gives a range of 1800-2100 mbar at full throttle. Idle is around 970mbar, if ya wanted to know!

Re: Turns over slowly but won't start
Id go with a shot battery too. The instruction booklet on one of the batteries I have bought of late stated that after charging it should maintain 12.75 volts for the battery to be at 100%. If you were to get a reading of 12.50 or 12.25 then it would only be maintaining 75% and 50% respectively

Re: ECP Crank Angle Sensors
Inrestingly, the service at my local ECP store has been poor aswell. Moody and rude bloke on the counter and wrong items picked, yet checked as correct.
That said, my stealer hasn't been much help of late either!

Re: ECP Crank Angle Sensors
That's the thing, I found out later that the Euro`s one was only about a fiver cheaper than the genuine part, yet appear to have a reputation for failing.
I might just go genuine and be done with it.

ECP Crank Angle Sensors
Hi all,
Does anyone know if these sensor are reliable? I ask because I have heard that the Coolant Temperature Sensors can be questionable at best.
Cheers

I shot a generous squirt of electrical contact cleaner into mine and operated it a few times, no strip down required. Havent had it misbehave since.

I get you can! I'm just out the back of maidstone town centre. Senacre, if you happen to be particularly familiar with the area.
I broke down over your way a couple of weeks back, in my arosa. On the a259, as it goes past the golf club at dymchurch.. middle of nowhere!

Can anyone run a scan for me?
Hi all, I've been having massive issues with vcds since day one. For some reason I am unable to dial into my passats logs. `no response from controller` is the usual deal that of nothing at all despite a full controller scan and using different leads. So.. as a result is there anyone in the maidston...

Re: worrying issue...
Just a heads up.. a new reader coil will set you back about £130, as it and the ignition barrel are as one. On the plus side, providing you get it from the stealer, you wont need a new key as they use your chasis number to match it all up. You wont need the key reprogramming either.

Newer maintainence free batteries makes the need for a vent redundant. I just tucked it back from where i found it!

I am somewhat dubious of any car parts from ebay and similar sites. As a rule,i only get new OEM parts. But seeing as a new pump is around £200 and my passat i getting on a bit, im going to take a gamble!
