Re: Tuning companies?

Hi LauMorgs,

Simon at CCC-Tech remapped mine.. Think it cost around £250 - £300, but that was a good year or more ago.

Re: No Preheat, No Start!

I have some progress on this.. Firstly, thanks karl for the info on the possible tandem pump issue. This was duely checked and all was found to be in order. There is also plenty of clearance between the fuel line and the charge air pipe, so this should cause an issue in the future. As this drew a bl...

Also, the removal of the ignition barrel is really very easy, and force is not required.

Re: Immobiliser activated - intermittent problem

Hey Andymac, Sounds like the reader coil on the ignition barrel is playing up. Vw do sell the barrel seperately, so you wont need to order an entire lock set. They will also use your chasis number to cut the barrel and new key so they should all match. Ive had a similar problem with mine and have be...

Re: No Preheat, No Start!

Thanks for the suggestion mini_dub and phil1973. Im advised that it has not been misfueled, currently sitting with half a tank, and has not been topped up since full. Id expect the car to barely make it off the forecourt if that would have been the case. And it would be a much easier fix! :(( The fu...

Re: No Preheat, No Start!

Hi Karl, Thanks for coming in on this.. I believe the engine is cranking fast enough, it has never altered. Only when the battery has run flat as a result of constant cranking! This happened a couple of times so a new Bosch one was purchased, pushing out 80AH. The fuel pump primes for around 3 secon...

No Preheat, No Start!

Hi guys, As predicted, Im back! although regretably not with another Passat! ;) You may have read that I was forwarding my Passat onto my brother in law, this has since happened but he has encountered a couple of issues and I was wondering if we could club together and help him out? Here's the deal....

Haha, yeah, that's me :D

Luckily, my sister is having the Passat so it'll still be in the family. It's been good to me and I'd hate to let it go elsewhere. See you on the other side ;)

Cheers fella. It's a 2004 E61. First thing it's getting is the EGR and main temp gauge replaced, swirl flaps done, panoramic roof serviced and all fluids changed. It's got a 1yr warranty with too though, just in case ;)

Leaving the Passat scene!!

So, after 17 months and almost 40k miles of ownership, I've decided to go for a different car. The Passat has been an awesome tool for me and I've really enjoyed ownership. I still really like the styling of the B5.5 and I'm sure it has many years of life left in it. Unfortunately, it needs a new cl...

I've got alloys from an Audi A5 convertible on my wagon. I love the look of them, could just do with being lowered a bit. http://i733.photobucket.com/albums/ww331/staffordcox/Passat%20Stuff/0784db60.jpg http://i733.photobucket.com/albums/ww331/staffordcox/Passat%20Stuff/9e53684e.jpg http://i733.phot...

I've got MFD1 nav and W8 interior light (ambient light one) in my 02 PD100 estate. All the buts to wire them in have come from Kufatec. I've also got alloys from an Audi A5 convertible (sort of OEM I suppose).

Got my eye open heated leather, cruise control and rear spoiler too ;)

B5.5 wagon carpet removal

Hi guys. Can anybody tell me how easy or hard it is to swap the carpet in my wagon? If its just a case of removing the seats and centre console, I'll probably give it a go. If I've got to fanny about get the dash out then I'll live with the hole in the drivers side carpet :D

Re: Could this be the end of my Passat?

Top tip on cleaning the cooling system out. Put a cup of washing powder in. It it a very strong detergent that is non foaming, it will absorb all the residual diesel which otherwise could emulsify and form white mayonnaise which would look like a head gasket failure. Problem is, right now, we are d...

Re: Could this be the end of my Passat? ** FIXED **

OK, I just took the fuel filter off, emptied it out and filled it with fresh diesel, emptied the coolant out of the rad and filled it with water (for now), put it all back together and it fired up!! Left it to warm up for a while (obviously it stalled a couple of times first of all) and then took it...

Could this be the end of my Passat?

I've never been great at car stuff, and this is probably why. In an attempt to fix the juddering on my Passat, I replaced the injector harness as suggested on here. Not a bad job at all, but while I was doing it I noticed the fuel filter was looking a bit scabby, which was surprising because it was ...
