345mm discs on car with 312mm as std
Its time to fit some new discs and pads, i want to put the 345mm on the front of my car but need the part number for the caliper cradle.
Does anyone have this and can anyone confirm that the 312mm standard calipers will fit the 345mm discs when on the new cradles?
Thanks in advance!
John

Youre right thats a lot of work that is gonna cost too much money. Thanks for the info.Jarek wrote:Different turbo, exhaust, ECU, wiring, etc. Most likely looking at custom exhaust to loose PDF from 170 one as well.
Not worth the hassle IMO.

Re: 170 tdi engine in to a 140 tdi car?
I'd echo what desertstorm said. I don't know why people would put an engine in a car that can already be bought with that engine from the factory! Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk I was only looking to replace the engine with a 170 if it was easy as im having to replace the engine anyway as min...

Yeah a remapped 170 would be best for me but i don't know if it will work?Gazwould wrote:Very likely to be PD at that age.
Sounds like you'll be a happy bunny with a remapped 170 engine to keep up with your mate.
It is a PD not CR my mistake.

Re: 170 tdi engine in to a 140 tdi car?
Mine is a 2006 so i think its a CR engine. I would be replacing with a similar age engine. If its just and engine ecu swap that would be easy enough but i suspect due to dpf it wont be the case. Yeah i love the way my mates 210bhp audi a4 goes, i dont do much town driving so a little extra lag isnt ...

170 tdi engine in to a 140 tdi car?
I think i know the answer to this question but thought you guys/girls can confirm with your wealth of knowledge. I have a 2.0 140 tdi which has 170k miles on it. The engine is worn and needs either a head rebuild/bottom end rebuild or replacing. I have been advised the head needs sorting and will co...

Starting issues!
For the past 6-9 months i getsporadic starting issues. I have a 140tdi. It is normally after i have driven it for a short amount of time and turn the engine off. On trying to restart the engine really shakes and bangs (not exhaust). I managed to catch it on video last night so will upload and put on...

Suspension Spring snapped?
Anyone ever experienced a snapped suspension spring? Car went for a big service today at 143000 miles and the only thing I have to do is replace the snapped spring.
Quite happy that's all there was but has anyone ever had a snapped spring, is it age/mileage related?
Cheers john

Sprayers in Northampton
I am selling my car and want to get the paint touched up as it has some stone/salt chips from winter driving. I want to restore the look of the paint which will need spraying so i was just wondering if anyone has got any good contacts that can spray at a decent (cheapish) level that is local to me. ...

I am looking to sell my Passat 140 tdi sport estate. Its a nice solid car, been serviced through vw for the majority of its life. I am on a vw service plan so its all paid for. Re: new B6 owner and bricking it
Bought my B6 170 14 months ago replacing an E39 Bimmer which although heavier was such a comfortable ride but sluggish and thirsty. My B6 though...sooo quick (forget the official stats I've had a timed 0 - 60 of 6.9 seconds STOCK!) and currently averaging 48 mpg using a liberal amount of Sport Mode...

Upgrade to 345mm discs?
Anyone know what the part numbers are for the 345mm calipers or carriers so i can fit the 345mm discs on my passat. I have the 312mm at them minute and they are wearing so thought an upgrade on replacement makes sense.
Thats if it even works, has anyone done this mod?
Thanks
John

Check your fuses too in the fuse box under the bonnet a fuse blows due to the seized V157 that also controls the fans and hence the 2 faults as for the engine blocked bi immob have a look at all your fault memories and see if you also have an steering lock fault too the 2 faults you have are not re...

Picked a new valve (throttle body) up from euro car parts for £150 had it fitted for £30. Cleared the fault and its all good.
Might be imagining things but it seems to drive more smoothly now.

19558 - Motor for Intake Manifold Flap (V157)
I have the following codes in vcds: 19558 - Motor for Intake Manifold Flap (V157) 17978 - Engine Start Blocked by Immobilizer Are they related and is it safe to drive my car at the moment as i have engine warning and emmissions warning? Does this make the car run lean/rich, the driveability has not ...
