Re: Whooshing noise on throttle??

It turned out to be the bottom intercooler pipe loose. Spraying from the lower part of the seal. New seal and clip sorted it

Re: B5.5 2.0 (OEM+), now a TDI 130!

UPDATE: Now its dropping oil, everytime you park theres a small puddle. I have traced it back to the front side intercooler pipe. The bottom joint was loose. It also explained the lack of boost and rough running. It struggled in certain gears at low speeds, and when you excellerated it was almost a ...

Its around the turbo area, more so where the PCV attaches to the air filter pipe.

ANOTHER TDi 1.9 Issue - Oil everywhere!

Ok, well, yet again my TDi is pissing out oil!! Everytime you park drips of oil underneath, not much, but noticeable. Car: Passat B5.5 TDi 1.9 130. When your driving and it gets to about 2kish, the turbo kicks in, still powerful, no black smoke, however, theres a rush of air, and it leaks boost, its...

Re: Whooshing noise on throttle??

What an interesting thread. Mine is exactly the same. Im also getting slight oil dripping from somewhere. Possibly its the intercoooler pipe. I have the 130 AVX engine, sorry about the photos. As you can see there appears to be some sort of oil spray happening. Im yet to take it off the check, but f...

Invoice Query

Just to put my mind at ease: Passat TDI 130 2002. £473.49 including labour and VAT. Change cambelt, waterpump, service with air filter, oil filter, plugs, oil, and bosch wipers. 4 hours labour. Can post up the break downs if required. It was work done by the previous owner, well what he paid for it...

Re: Engine rebuild

FYI from what I can gather the 1.8t engines have strong internals which can handle upto 300bhp from the factory, so unless your wanting to run 300bhp+ then theres no real point of beefing it up.

Yup, check its not filled with water. Cost me £600 putting it right (new brake cyclinder setup/brake calipers, due to water ingress, messed up the cylinder causing brakes to jam on).

£228 Inc vat. Pump gasket, injector gaskets, engine flush, engine oil, plus labour pulling everything apart trying to find the route cause of the problem. Drives fine, for now. http://img.tapatalk.com/bcdfffa2-bc64-5bbb.jpg Filthy but back home. Minus wind deflectors which I took off before it went...

Re: B5.5 2.0 (OEM+), now a TDI 130!

Ok, so finally an update. As some may be aware I had a massive problem with fuel getting into the oil causing massive overfill, very scary when it goes pop. It was recovered by the RAC to a specialist. The first port of call was to replace the seal on the tandem pump. After picking it up, it let go ...
